Citrix Workspace app is the easy-to-install client software that provides seamless secure access to everything you need to get work done.
Operating across multiple European markets, this telecommunications provider is shaped by a business environment defined by ongoing mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
For organizations like this, change is no longer episodic. It is continuous. Regulatory scrutiny increases pressure on service availability and customer impact. Hybrid workforces and cloud transformation introduce new layers of complexity. In this environment, the challenge is no longer how to modernize, but how to maintain control while everything changes.
As the organization transitioned away from on-premises data centres into a managed services model, that challenge became immediate. The business needed to accelerate cloud adoption and modernize its digital workspace, while preserving cost predictability, operational resilience, and secure access across a constantly shifting landscape.

The organization’s existing end‑user computing environment reflected assumptions built for stability rather than change.
Licensing models were static and uniform, treating all users the same regardless of role or performance needs. Secure access had evolved through the accumulation of point solutions, increasing complexity and operational overhead. As workloads moved toward the cloud, usage became harder to forecast, introducing financial risk and governance challenges.
At the same time, expectations around resilience continued to rise. Improving availability without adding architectural complexity was becoming increasingly difficult.
What emerged was a clear tension: the business needed flexibility, but existing models made flexibility expensive, fragmented, and risky.
As the organization's managed services provider, the GSI was responsible for delivering end-user computing services across a diverse, multi-country workforce. Supporting the business meant accommodating constant organizational change without repeatedly redesigning the digital workspace.
Rather than focusing on infrastructure, the GSI and Citrix reframed the challenge around people.
Different users performed different roles, consumed different resources, and required different access experiences. Aligning access, performance, and cost to these realities became the foundation for a new operating model, one designed to absorb change rather than resist it.
Citrix Platform Flex provides a persona based, predictable & flexible approach to secure access, delivered through a managed service that includes cloud hosted user workloads.
Instead of uniform licensing, end‑user personas, such as task, knowledge, or power workers, were mapped to the access methods, performance profiles, and security controls they required. Licensing will be governed through Flex credits, aligning cost with real usage while maintaining predictability as demand shifted.
Delivered as part of the managed service, Citrix Platform Flex combines Citrix platform capabilities with partner-managed, cloud-hosted user workloads. This creates a simplified, scalable foundation for cloud adoption, one that can evolve alongside the business.
Our role is to simplify complexity while maintaining control. By delivering Citrix Platform Flex as part of a managed service, we create a predictable, consumption-aligned model that supports the organization's cloud strategy while reducing the uncertainty that often accompanies large-scale transformation."
With Citrix Platform Flex in place, the digital workspace no longer needs to be redesigned every time the organization evolves.
Users can be scaled, reassigned, or transitioned between personas as roles change. Cloud adoption can progress at a measured pace, avoiding disruptive cost spikes or premature architectural decisions. Secure access remains consistent across environments, reducing operational risk as complexity increases elsewhere in the business.
By simplifying the access model and aligning it to how people actually work, the organization can begin replacing overprovisioning and cost volatility with a more predictable, usage-aligned approach that supports both financial governance and long-term transformation.;
With Citrix managing the core platform and the GSI delivering the managed service, IT teams are able to shift their focus.
Rather than reacting to infrastructure demands, they can concentrate on governing risk, improving user experience, and supporting strategic business priorities. The digital workspace becomes an enabler of change rather than a constraint, providing a stable foundation within an operating model defined by constant motion.
In environments shaped by continuous change, rigidity increases risk, while unmanaged flexibility increases complexity.
Citrix Platform Flex removes that trade-off by aligning secure access, performance, and cost to how people work. Delivered through a managed services model with cloud-hosted user workloads, it gives organizations the confidence to modernize, scale, and adapt without destabilizing operations.
More importantly, it provides a foundation that can absorb ongoing change—whether driven by growth, cloud adoption, evolving workforce requirements, or organizational transformation—while maintaining control, predictability, and resilience.
