The IT leaders that support today’s digital workforce face increasing pressure to meet users’ appetites for user-friendly, cloud-based services. At the same they must provide easy-to-access mobile infrastructure without creating operability challenges. And all of this must be done within a secure environment. Citrix Workspace and ShareFile are designed to tackle this increasing IT complexity. Both provide easy access to files, apps and desktops in an integrated, secure environment that manages both IT and user operability challenges.

In response to these the ever-increasing list of user requirements, Citrix ShareFile is adding features that expand on the current offerings to support a unified workspace. Focusing on Experience, Choice, and Security, here are features you’ll see soon:

EXPERIENCE: Enhance the user experience and workforce efficiency with collaboration and workflows.

ShareFile in a Unified Workspace (Mobile, Web, Desktop)

Citrix Workspace delivers a unified experience for both end users and administrators, bringing together virtual applications, virtual desktops, SaaS applications, and files across repositories. ShareFile will become a single unified source from which you can access your files – from anywhere. It will bring files together from the various repositories in which they are stored, for example, your local drive, network drives, SharePoint, OneDrive, Dropbox, and ShareFile.

What’s more, Citrix Workspace enables users to access their content from anywhere — web, desktop, or mobile environment. Users now get a meaningfully integrated offering with improved workflows and administration. A tech preview will be available at Synergy.

Unified Desktop Experience

Citrix Files App is the new unified ShareFile desktop client. Throughout 2018, this client will slowly replace our existing tools — Drive Mapper, ShareFile Desktop, and Sync. All of our existing client functionality will be available in a single app that can perform “hybrid sync.” Users can pick-and-choose files or folders to access offline or online. Upgrades will be offered and users will be able to opt-in for an extended period of time.

With this new hybrid sync experience, not only are users able to access all of their content natively from the file system in on-demand mode, but also, they can right-click and select in order to sync down individual folders. This keeps the folders local for performance reasons or when going offline.

Unified Cloud Admin

Born in the cloud, ShareFile is a secure, enterprise data sync and sharing service with flexible storage options that allow IT to mobilize all business data. ShareFile enables your workforce to access, sync, and securely share files from anywhere on any device. Now ShareFile is integrated into Citrix cloud so that users can access and control all their Citrix applications from one interface.

CHOICE: Pursue cloud with the confidence. Deliver access to content from any source – on-premises or in the cloud.

Comprehensive Multi-cloud Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS) with Azure/AWS/Google

ShareFile storage is available in public cloud, private cloud, on-premises locations. It is part of a comprehensive cloud strategy that covers all major cloud providers, so ShareFile is integrated with all major Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.

Forms integration with existing business apps

Citrix ShareFile delivers a fully integrated workflow experience that enables users to create advanced, custom workflows, both in the cloud and on-premises, with web hooks to integrate with existing business apps.  Custom Workflows combine the features of multiple ShareFile components, including SecureForms, Feedback and Approvals, and RightSignature with an automation engine. This delivers a workflow solution that streamlines and automates the repeated, time consuming manual document-centric processes that customers face daily.  The solution is delivered through an easy-to-consume and easy-to-maintain model that is both flexible and secure.

SECURITY: Ensure security and compliance. Protect intellectual property. Govern the accessing and sharing of files. Audit and report.

Closed Loop Content Security and Analytics

Companies continue to face threats such as document exfiltration from within and ransomware attacks from outside. Citrix ShareFile collects information – events – on user behavior with documents: access, downloads, and sharing. This information can identify suspicious patterns and alert administrators. Citrix Analytics Service (CAS) applies Machine Learning algorithms to identify patterns and anomalies, and report them to the administrators so they can take action to prevent security issues.

Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) Integrations

Cloud access security brokers (CASB) are on-premises or cloud-hosted software programs that sit between cloud service consumers and cloud service providers to enforce security, compliance, and governance policies for cloud applications. Citrix ShareFile is integrated with some of the leading CASB vendors, including Skyhigh, Netskope, and Avanan to deliver advanced DLP features in the cloud.

GDPR

ShareFile helps provide the legal implementation of GDPR, for example, privacy policies, data protection, and GDPR consent. This includes custom workflows and e-signature capabilities.  In addition to administering new privacy policies, ShareFile provides those who manage personal data with the security measures mandated in specific GDPR articles.
