Citrix experts want to ensure that you are ready for anything. That is why we focus on three main pillars within Citrix Workspace: empowering secure and distributed work; boosting worker productivity; and accelerating IT modernization. Earlier this month, during our Citrix Launchpad: Work event, we announced new Citrix and partner innovations that will transform how people work.

That transformation is becoming increasingly important as businesses continue to evolve their approach to distributed workforces and implement new work models and technologies to enhance communication and collaboration. Citrix can securely enable hybrid work with practical tools that facilitate the shift to cloud or hybrid cloud computing.

Our teams diligently work to provide the most up-to-date product solutions to improve the way work gets done, regardless of device, time, location, or network. Let’s take a closer look at the what’s new with Citrix Workspace in October.

The Power of Citrix Content Collaboration

Secure digital collaboration is about more than editing and saving your valuable documents. It’s the core function for hundreds of organizational workflows responsible for coordinating the people, processes, and technologies that drive daily operations. Let’s look at a few of our accomplishments from October.

Citrix named an IDC MarketScape Major Player

Citrix was named a Major Player in the IDC MarketScape. The report evaluated e-signature software providers for their role in improving content-centric workflows and how you can leverage them for efficiency, productivity, and security gains.

Secure Collaboration — Malware threat detection

We take content security seriously and have taken significant steps to identify and check the spread of malware quickly. Users can upload and collaborate on any file type and size without worrying about the danger of malicious content. Any file uploaded to Citrix ShareFile or Citrix Content Collaboration is scanned for malicious content within industry benchmark speeds. We now further reduce risk and protect users from spreading malicious content by quarantining infected files. Specific actions will be disabled for the file, like download and share. There is also a new administrator experience to see any malicious files identified by the ShareFile anti-virus scan. Please see the product documentation or read this blog post for more information.

General Availability of file uploading, embedding, and user-provided capabilities for microapps

New to Microapp Integrations

In addition to the release of the App Builder, we are pleased to share a few of our newest features for microapps:

  • File Uploading: The file upload component enables uploading files and sending them to the (SoR) and enhances the ability to build for scenarios and use cases where attachments are needed.
  • Embedding: Citrix Workspace users now can interact with third-party web page content like online directories within maps, videos, stock price tickers, and more within Citrix Workspace.
  • User Providers: User providers reduce the time-to-value by removing the need to replicate user groups created and maintained in SoR in the identity providers’ configuration settings and keep them in sync.

COVID-19 Self-Certify Integration

As employees return to the office, safety protocols now are a part of daily life and interactions. Citrix makes it easy to return to the office, enabling employees to submit health status information through the new COVID-19 self-certify integration. Learn more about Citrix Workspace App Builder.

Get Up to Speed with Citrix Analytics for Security

Citrix Analytics App for Splunk

Many Citrix customers rely on Splunk for data insights. And while they love the insights, automation, and protection they get from Citrix Analytics for Security, many prefer to use Splunk as a single security dashboard.

The Citrix Analytics app for Splunk is now available through Splunkbase! The app enables the integration of each data source, guiding you to richer insights with new dashboards. It also gives security operations (SOC) teams the ability to correlate data from disparate logs, helping to identify and proactively remediate security risks quickly.

Additionally, valuable dashboards unique to Citrix Analytics for Security now are available on the Splunk platform. You can also create additional new custom views to suit your debugging and monitoring needs. With this app, you’ll get several integrations designed to enhance the value of your investment in both Citrix Analytics for Security and Splunk solutions.

Access Assurance Dashboard

Now generally available, the Access Assurance dashboard provides a near real-time visualization of all the access requests to Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. This technology enables SecOps teams to view previously available data through log files in an easy-to-consume format to help quickly identify any potential threats. When the Access Assurance dashboards show requests from unfamiliar locations, SecOps teams can quickly drill down into areas to investigate further.

The Citrix Analytics for Security Access Assurance Dashboard

This view enables these teams to identify which users are making access requests from those locations and view other risky actions taken by the user. The view can include activities like insecure web browsing, excessive clipboard usage, first-time access from a new device, and much more. Combined with the geofencing capabilities introduced earlier this year, Citrix Analytics for Security adds a critical layer of defense against account compromise.

Optimize Work with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Service

Transitioning to the cloud from on-premises technology is now more critical than ever as organizations everywhere shift to a hybrid approach. With this in mind, we continue to add new capabilities to the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop service to improve cloud resiliency.

We have released Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 2109 and several other features within the last few months to add value to your cloud deployments. Let’s take a closer look at some of the newest capabilities included this month:

  • Service continuity: The service continuity feature is now available on Linux endpoints and Chrome and Edge browsers within Windows using a browser extension and Citrix Workspace app 2109 or later.
  • Increased data retention inside of Citrix Director: Admins can now view historical trends for the past 365 days. The data retention rate has risen from the previous 90-day historical trend.
  • Automated Configuration Tool updates: Our recent update now enables customers to migrate dedicated machine creation service (MCS) catalogs from on-prem to the cloud, reducing migration time.
  • Restart scheduling in Citrix Studio: This capability reduces management time for machine maintenance with a custom restart schedule. Now IT admins can set custom times and dates for machine maintenance and restart within Citrix Studio.

This has been an exceptionally busy month with the addition of new features to the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service. Our focus remains to perfect how distributed workforces operate by improving worker experience, increasing security, and streamlining management.
