I just finished watching season three of The Expanse on Amazon (I also read the books and am currently waiting for book eight of the series), and now I have to figure out what to read and watch next.

I realized that I prefer to read and watch a series more than a single novel or a standalone movie. A series lets you get more details and insights into the story. It gives you time to see how things grow and change through the course of multiple episodes or books.

I have a similar challenge at conferences. I find a good topic, but it only lasts for 45 minutes. Then I have to decide on the next session, which will most likely cover a different topic. This goes on for many days, and I am left with many different pieces of knowledge across many different topics. Each session offers a unique topic, and I can’t always see how the topics relate.

During the planning stages for Citrix Synergy 2019, we had a crazy idea. What if we created a series? What if each session in the series built upon the previous sessions? What if we ran these sessions back to back in the same room?

I am excited to say that we are going to try this at Synergy 2019 with The Geek’s Guide to the Workspace! If you are technical and want to see how all of the workspace pieces fit together, then pay attention.

The Geek’s Guide to the Workspace is a 10-part series running back to back to back. In these sessions, we’ll cover topics like:

  • Creating a baseline workspace environment
  • Integrating content repositories
  • Centrally managing corporate-owned devices
  • Investigating ways to add a virtual app or desktop
  • Learning how to use the latest workflows for a better experience
  • Understanding how to optimize the network for on-prem/cloud architectures
  • And much more!

The Geek’s Guide to the Workspace is 495 minutes of technical content, from 14 technical experts across two Synergy days in one room. Pick your spot, grab a snack, sit back and enjoy. And follow me on Twitter at @djfeller.
