We are excited to share this news with our customers, who have been such a big part of our success. The momentum of Citrix ShareFile continues at a rapid pace; we’ve surpassed 65,000 business customers and now have more than 17 million users. Today, 99 percent of the Fortune 500 are represented in the ShareFile user base.

Openness and flexibility are key drivers of our success. At Citrix, we want to empower our customers to provide secure and reliable access to apps and data anywhere, on any device, across any platform. The ShareFile solution is essential to delivering on this vision.

This openness and flexibility is evident in many ways. With ShareFile, customers can sync and share files from a range of locations, whether those files are on-prem or in the cloud. ShareFile provides connectors to all sorts of data repositories, including Microsoft SharePoint, EMC Documentum and network shares. ShareFile is supported on a wide range of mobile devices AND on virtual desktops. In fact, ShareFile is the only EFSS solution that is optimized for the unique storage and performance requirements of virtualized environments. This means organizations can use ShareFile for all their workers, whether they are in the field using mobile devices, in the office on a laptop or anywhere using virtual desktops.

From a security standpoint, not only does ShareFile include industry-leading Information Rights Management functionality, it also integrates with leading DLP solutions so customers can apply the same data security policies across their organization, regardless of how data is shared. Auditing and reporting, file expiration policies, DLP, view-only sharing are all available through ShareFile and its connected data sources.

So, what’s next for ShareFile?

We have a single principle that guides us as we move forward with planning and developing new ShareFile features: To support the things that people are trying to get done when they are sharing files.

Customers and analysts have praised us for making file sharing secure, easy, and flexible, but why are people sharing files? Are they sending a contract for signatures? Or are they circulating a proposal for feedback and review? Our design and development teams are hard at work identifying the processes that make file sharing necessary, and on developing solutions where ShareFile help make all of these processes easier.

We’ve already delivered solutions like ShareFile Platinum, which allows customers to create custom workflows and automate routine activities that involve electronic signatures and organizational procedures. Data is the lifeblood of any organization, and we are committed to extending ShareFile into a broader range of document-centric processes and helping customers solve bigger problems with Citrix.

As CEO Kirill Tatarinov stated in his Citrix strategy memo:

We believe technology can be a great liberator. We believe that innovation must be linked to measurable and concrete gains in productivity. And we believe our customers and partners should be freed up to be a business enabler of the future versus a legacy manager — and to be able to say “yes” more often to mobility, new applications and the power of the cloud.

ShareFile is key to achieving this strategic goal for and for enabling our customers to say yes to Citrix. We are proud to be recognized by Gartner as an industry leader.
