This week will certainly be a big week of announcements for Citrix at our annual Synergy customer conference in Anaheim California.

In the past year, XenMobile has completed a rapid transformation from an EMM platform focused primarily on mobility to Unified Endpoint Management, capable of managing all primary device types — even some special IoT devices specific only to Citrix. For our customers this is huge. They can now manage all of their workspace devices and endpoints from a single console — a common UI — that makes all the Citrix Workspace Services available.

How far have we come? Take a look at this graphic:

As a result of this progress, it doesn’t feel quite right to call this solution Xen “Mobile” does it? Moving forward, we’ll be referring to the XenMobile solution as Citrix Endpoint Management.

UEM isn’t the only thing we’ve been working on since 2017. At Synergy 2018 we’ll be highlighting a number really cool features and product enhancements.

For the first time, Citrix will be demonstrating the new Workspace app for mobile. The Workspace app for mobile can be used by Citrix Cloud customers for an enhanced workspace experience. Citrix Workspace app will be the universal app that mobile users leverage to access their comprehensive digital workspace from any device. Workspace app is the centralized access point for managed mobile apps, web, SaaS, Windows & Linux app/desktops and files.  This entire Workspace app experience is delivered and managed entirely from Citrix Cloud. This is an industry first.

In addition to the Workspace app, we’ll be showing additional user experience enhancements to the Secure Mail UI.  Changes include new color, new font, tabbed navigation and floating action buttons. We’ll also be showing some new concepts we’re working on including Priority Inbox view and third party app integration with Slack.

Remember the “special” IoT device I mentioned earlier? Citrix Endpoint Management (formerly XenMobile) can now be used to manage the Citrix Ready workspace hub. Only Citrix Endpoint Management can manage the workspace hub. This makes it an easy choice for existing XenApp and XenDesktop customers who want to benefit from innovative Citrix Casting technology that allows users to carry complete workspaces in their pockets.  We’re also adding support for Alexa for Business, providing even more IoT capabilities, security and automation to the Citrix Workspace.

Citrix Analytics is a major highlight this year at Synergy. XenMobile integration with Citrix Analytics gives IT additional visibility into the mobile user’s risk posture. It has the ability to take action on jailbroken devices, blacklisted applications and app usage of unmanaged devices. The endless combination of operating systems, device types and applications working together as part of a user workspace creates numerous opportunities for performance degradation and security vulnerabilities. End-to-end analytics with automated machine learning and the ability to take action based on user and device compliance helps mitigate and optimize the workspace endpoint.

Finally, we’re really excited to share that we successfully launched the XenMobile Migration Service earlier this year.  The XenMobile Migration service is included as part of a Citrix Cloud subscription. This free service provides customers with a dedicated Citrix resource to work hand in hand for a quick, smooth and painless transition from on-prem to cloud.  The best part? No end-user re-enrollment is required! For more information, click HERE to contact your local Citrix account rep.
