Citrix Content Collaboration consistently brings outstanding productivity, security, and end-user experiences to organizations around the world. This year, Content Collaboration is center stage in the Citrix Workspace, providing the indispensable data and content layer, augmenting the industry-leading application, security, and analytics delivered to any user across any end device.

Citrix Synergy 2019 is here, so let’s look over the past year and recap the fantastic value delivered by Citrix Content Collaboration to customers.

EXPERIENCE

Citrix Content Collaboration focuses on improving productivity in everything we deliver. A crucial part of this has been the ability to find, access, and collaborate across fragmented environments spanning cloud, on-premises, or hybrid content repositories.

We’re proud to bring this value to the Citrix Workspace, enabling organizations to deeply integrate content in a friction-free user experience across apps (SaaS, virtual, mobile) and desktops.

Citrix Files

Citrix Files is the flagship productivity tool delivered since Synergy 2018. Citrix Files delivers a unified desktop experience, providing a single interface into all your files and content repositories. By combining all the functionality and benefits of our Drive Mapper, Sync and Desktop App tools, users can access all their files without requiring a full local sync. Users can also initiate critical native workflows like electronic signature and feedback and approvals right from their native Windows Explorer and macOS Finder.

We’re exited to announce that we’ve recently added offline support for files and folders we are excited for our users to take full advantage of these fantastic features.

Choice

Content and data tied up in legacy infrastructures continue to be costly to organizations, while also delivering frustrating experiences for employees. Citrix Content Collaboration provides a critical solution to these challenges by enabling organizations to modernize legacy content repositories without migration through its connector technology, as well as offering the utilization of multiple cloud providers, on-premises locations and/or hybrid deployments.

Cloud Connectors Improvements

Connecting external data repositories into the Citrix Workspace via Content Collaboration is a game changing benefit for end users to gain visibility into all their files and data from a single, secure interface.

Over the past year we’ve delivered exciting new improvements to cloud accounts connected to Content Collaboration, starting off with critical developments with Microsoft OneDrive For Business:

  • Upload support for up to 15 GB files (was previously 100 MB)
  • Ability for OneDrive for Business Administrators to consent on behalf of their users when first authenticating to the OneDrive For Business Connector.

Additional personal cloud connector updates:

  • The ability to “favorite” Personal Cloud Connector Folders for easier access and searchability.
  • Extending “Recent Files” support for Personal Cloud Connector Files
  • Connectors assigned to users automatically appear on Left Navigation Bar in Web UI

Security

Security is at a core of Citrix Content Collaboration. Recent product developments extend security and protection to unparalleled levels for both organizations and end users.

We introduced contextual policies to provide dynamic controls for users, apps and content, protecting company intellectual property based on level of trust and classification. In addition, exciting content analytics around enrichment of metadata enables granular security control over intellectual property. Finally, security analytics now include extended visibility and closed-loop remediation of anomalous behavior across federated content repositories.

Connector Content Monitored by Citrix Analytics

Citrix Analytics ushered in a hugely attractive level of automation and control across the Citrix Content Collaboration environment. Organizations can automate security controls based on a variety of contexts and content including user, device, file, content, location, time.

One of the most important developments over the past year has been the extension of Citrix Analytics into connected environments, with connector content now included in excessive behavior risk indicators.

Supported connectors include:

  • On-premises: SharePoint and Network Shares
  • Cloud: SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Google Drive

Supported indicators include:

  • Excessive Downloads, Uploads, Sharing, Deletions

Mandatory Two-Step Verification

Protecting company data is a top priority of all companies and for good reason. Mandatory Two-Step verification puts the company in control of their data and who is able to access it.

Mandatory Two-Step verification goes beyond usernames and passwords. It requires a code tied to a specific user, accessible via a mobile device, landline or authenticator app. This ensures that the employee or client accessing the data is authorized to do so and helps prevent access to unauthorized individuals who have obtained an active username and password.

Hard Quotas

A highly requested feature being delivered over the past year is the ability to place hard quotas on users exceeding their storage limits. Admins can now disable uploads for users over quota, as week as set account-wide default quota and individual user quota. To avoid any productivity loss issues, users receive email and in-app warning notifications. Support for Hard Quotas is across our web tools, Citrix Files for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Outlook.

View-only Sharing with Watermark

View only sharing with Watermark is an exciting new release, enabling end users to apply a watermark or prevent downloading of a document by the recipient. This solution still provides the ability for employees to collaborate easily but ensures the security of the information with no plug-ins required.

We’re excited to show off these features at Synergy 2019, so if you’re attending, swing by the booth or attend one of the many Content Collaboration sessions. Stay tuned for even more exciting updates across Citrix Content Collaboration and the Citrix Workspace that will streamline content and improve employee experience.
