Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops releases are feature rich, as is Citrix Hypervisor. Our newly updated feature matrices give you all the details on feature entitlement for both and will help you get the most out of your deployment and your Citrix journey.

We have multiple releases of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops each year that entitle you to different features. With the end of life of XenApp and XenDesktop 6.5 in 2018, we decided to revamp the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops release feature matrix.

The feature matrix gives you a granular look into the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Service, Long Term Service Release (LTSR), and Current Release (CR). Updated with each new launch, it’s the place to go for insights on entitlement. With the new matrix, we’ve added a key that describes ease of deployment of each feature.

This new system of dots indicates the level of IT involvement each feature requires. A column without a dot means the feature is not entitled in that specific release. The matrix gives you a deeper look into how much your IT will need to deploy and how much Citrix will manage for you.

The screenshot below shows a few of our HDX features and capabilities. These features are included in all our releases, but Citrix manages more of these capabilities for you in the cloud service release.

With the feature column, you can take a deep dive into product capabilities and see what you already own with your current deployment and how to optimize it. From HDX innovations to monitoring and analytics capabilities, the updated features matrix will help you get the most out of your infrastructure.

We’ve also given the Citrix Hypervisor feature matrix a new and improved look. Explore everything you need to know about Citrix Hypervisor by both edition and release. A dot represents entitlement in that edition and release. The matrix below shows that the base functionality of Citrix Hypervisor is the same across all versions and releases.

Citrix Hypervisor is specifically optimized for Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops workloads. In the matrix, you’ll find information on management tools, workload protection, graphic-deployment capabilities, and more.

These feature matrices have everything you need to know about Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and Citrix Hypervisor in two convenient locations. Find out what you are (or could be) entitled to. Trust us. It’s worth it.
