Apple enthusiasts waited patiently (or impatiently, as was my case) for Apple to reveal their latest technology. Tuesday’s Apple event unveiled the apple watch series 3 that allows you to stay connected without having your phone nearby, an all-glass iPhone 8 and 8+ ideal for wireless charging, and iPhone X with Face ID and animojis (I’m much more excited for the latter than I should be). Along with these new technologies came the one announcement that most of us in the enterprise space long awaited…

Apple announced iOS 11 is scheduled for release on September 19th.

iOS 11 cements Apple’s commitment to the enterprise. The iPad Pro enhancements: the new dock, multitasking, drag and drop, and scan and sign, among others, delivers an almost desktop-like experience that caters to employees and companies looking to ditch older PCs for newer, more mobile, and lightweight technology. Also with iOS 11, MDM can now push iOS updates to supervised devices, MDM commands can be marked, so that they occur when a device is wired, and new VPN restrictions have been introduced.

With so much buzz around the 10-year anniversary of the iphone and this new release, consumers will be quick to update to iOS 11, and Citrix XenMobile is proud to announce that we provide day zero support for iOS 11. As Kevin Binder wrote, we released XenMobile 10.7 last week and, along with new enhancements for unified endpoint management, XenMobile 10.7 provides day zero compatibility with iOS 11. Please encourage iOS users to update their devices to XenMobile client 10.7 before upgrading to iOS 11. More detailed instructions and recommendations for iOS 11 can be found HERE.

All customers should have received a communication last week with details and instructions as you plan for this update. Please follow the links for additional documentation on the latest XenMobile 10.7 release including a full feature list, known issues and fixed issues for both Client and Server.
