As a company dedicated to improving employees’ user experience and productivity, Citrix offered innovative solutions for more than 30 years. By giving employees a great user experience, on any device, over any network, Citrix has enabled more productive workflows and helped workers get their job done under any circumstances, with minimal friction.

This has become even more valuable with the COVID-19 pandemic forcing us to change the way we work. Businesses are able to maintain continuity thanks to Citrix products and solutions. Workers can download the Citrix Workspace app to their device of choice wherever they are and, with the right credential in hand, access their work apps or virtual desktop immediately.

But clunky passwords can quickly put company data and resources at risk. And from a security standpoint, there is nothing worse than a stolen or broken password in the hands of an attacker to turn that magic into a nightmare.

A login with a memorized password is the de-facto default for preventing unauthorized access and is acknowledged as a necessary evil to protect businesses from compromise. And while users might have grown used to it, they’ve come to dislike it. The number of passwords an average user needs to enter over a working day has grown significantly over the years. To prevent weak passwords from being guessed by attackers, users are asked to set harder, more complex passwords. And when those complex passwords are forgotten, users endure the frustration of being locked out.

Passwords are also vulnerable in numerous ways, and the COVID-19 pandemic is exacerbating security problems caused by passwords with millions of workers abruptly forced into working from home and asked to navigate the new, unfamiliar remote access terrain. These newbies are less experienced at distinguishing between what is legit and what is fraudulent and more likely to be duped by bogus requests asking for their credentials or imposter websites posing as the real thing. For attackers, it is like taking candy from a baby.

But there is a better way to protect Citrix remote access to apps and desktops sacrificing the any app, any network, any device experience.

Earlier this year, Secret Double Octopus became a Citrix Ready Partner after successfully validating our passwordless authentication solution with Citrix Gateway to enable frictionless authentication. For users, this means no more recalling and entering vulnerable passwords and no more downtime when forgetting their credentials. For admins, the impact is just as beneficial, putting an end to managing and enforcing password policies and scheduled renewals, not to mention end-user support.

This innovative enterprise-ready passwordless solution works by sending an authentication request to the Octopus Authenticator app running on the users’ mobile phone. The user just needs to hit “approve” and verify their identity on the app using the on-device biometric sensor (fingerprint reader or facial recognition). No passwords need to be recalled or entered, and no vulnerable authentication data is communicated anywhere.

Through its partnership with Secret Double Octopus, Citrix users can enjoy an exceptional and secure experience, going from a quick passwordless login to getting to work! Explore the integration details.
