Rome wasn’t built in a day, and your plans for Citrix Synergy 2019 won’t be either. When it comes to events like Synergy, it’s vital to clearly define your objectives and build a plan to support them.

Last week we shared four tips from a few of our longstanding regulars. They laid the foundation for a productive Synergy experience, covering how to get started with customer invitations and hosting meet-ups. Here are four more tips to help you round out your plan.

#1 — Attend the Keynote to Demonstrate Alignment with Citrix

Once you’ve chosen the right people to bring, how do you coordinate your schedules? With so much to explore at Synergy, which activities should you put at the top of the list? What if a customer’s time is limited and you have to pick and choose sessions?

Phil Alberta, President, IPM Technology, recommends steering clients toward the keynote, which provides inspiration, insight and a roadmap to future success.

“At the end of the day, it’s a business sign-off. It’s a business outcome for customers. There are so many good stories around Citrix powering business and digital transformation.”

The keynote is also an ideal place to position yourself as a trusted advisor, to explain to customers how you go to market with Citrix, and to embolden them to take the next step in their journey.

“Being able to see the executive leadership team at Citrix and hear the vision from them directly — that goes a long way with our clients,” says Matt Metelsky (@telsky), CTO, Third Octet (@thirdoctet). “It really validates the things we’ve been working on with them so that these clients go home more comfortable in their decision making. It shows that we’re committed to Citrix and continue to be the leaders in our market for Citrix implementations and architecture.”

#2 — Attend Breakout Sessions That Go Deep Into Your Customers’ Areas of Interest

What truly matters to your customer? What training do they need to immediately begin making a difference in their organization?

Breakouts are designed to meet customers where they are — no matter their level of experience. Work with customers to identify the sessions that are most beneficial to them based on the problem they’re trying to solve. If current customers are presenting, include those sessions in other customers’ agendas. “For our alumni enterprise customers, we offer a 1-on-1 walkthrough of the Session Catalog to identify sessions we think pertain to their current state and future business objectives.” says Al Solorzano (@TheAlSolorzano), VP, End User Computing, Entisys360 (@Entisys360).

Be sure to check out and share the entire Synergy Session Catalog, which is easily searchable by area of interest, level, product, and more. Get a first look at the recommended sessions here.

#3 — Walk Through the Solutions Expo and Citrix Experience Center Together

When in doubt, a great place to engage with customers — and expand their vision about what’s possible — is the Solutions Expo. Provide meaningful guidance and answer questions as your customers take an exclusive first look at the latest and greatest offerings from leading IT solution providers.

“I attend Synergy with my customers to be there with them as they’re looking to find a solution,” says Alberta. “They’ll walk the floor and will want to understand more about what the opportunities are, how they can grow their business, or how they can do something different than they were doing yesterday. That’s really the exciting part. The Synergy resources available to us as partners that we can expose clients to are priceless.”

At the heart of the Solutions Expo is the Citrix Experience Center. There, customers can get personalized, hands-on interactions with all the latest Citrix solutions, including Citrix Workspace, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and Citrix ADC.

#4 — Create Conversation Every Chance You Get

Make plans to meet up for breakfast or lunch in the meal hall. Grab coffee with a group of customers or peers. Use this time to discuss how your technology works with what attendees are seeing from Citrix at the event. These types of meetings are also an opportunity for customers to interact with and learn from each other. “Enabling our clients to engage with peers from various industries regarding their application of Citrix technologies exposes them to new ideas outside of their existing use cases,” says Jarel Hall (@Jarel Hall), CTO, Alchemy Technology Group (@AlchemyTechGrp).
