In our dynamic world, the strongest relationships adapt and evolve. As organizations increasingly embrace the cloud, Citrix and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) are announcing a multi-year agreement to strengthen our collaboration to develop new integrated products and services that help organizations around the world transition to hybrid cloud environments.

Citrix and HPE are investing in a long-term alliance to drive innovation in hybrid cloud IT, coupled with an expansion of HPE’s global Citrix services expertise. Our two companies are also establishing deeper collaboration between our field and sales organizations to help customers and partners take advantage of the best both organizations have to offer.

Our renewed alliance has already delivered results as we kicked off the New Year of 2017 with the introduction of a joint solution between Citrix, HPE and Atlantis as part of a new Citrix Ready HCI Workspace Appliance program. As the first offering as part of that initiative, the HPE Edgeline EL4000 Intelligent Edge Workspace automatically connects to Citrix Cloud to automate the setup and maintenance of XenApp and XenDesktop Service.

In addition to delivering superior performance, the Citrix Ready HCI Workspace Appliance offerings use the XenServer hypervisor, which is optimized to support Citrix workspaces and eliminates the v-tax associated with VMware hypervisors, reducing solution costs for customers.

The HPE workspace appliance is now available, and dramatically simplifies the deployment and management of XenApp and XenDesktop through Citrix Cloud automated services, which is particularly valuable for mid-market companies wanting to leverage Citrix’ market-leading app and desktop delivery products, but lacking the IT staff size or skills. The HPE Edgeline EL4000 Intelligent Edge Workspace reduces the total cost of ownership (TCO) by up to 40% compared to DIY solutions—and the integrated Atlantis USX software increases storage capacity by up to 10X, and improves user logon times from minutes to seconds.

Because the XenApp and XenDesktop deployments are managed through Citrix Cloud as a subscription, IT administrators avoid the need to worry about software updates, patches and optimizations, because that administrative work is automatically managed. The subscription through Citrix Cloud ensures that all of the latest features and innovations of XenApp and XenDesktop are seamlessly added and end users benefit immediately from the newest advances.

Citrix and HPE are also making it easy to buy and deploy the Citrix Ready HCI Workspace appliance through turnkey packages offered by Citrix and HPE channel partners. The comprehensive new agreement streamlines the acquisition and sales process for partners to ensure customers can benefit from Citrix and HPE innovation as quickly and seamlessly as possible.

Looking further down the road, Citrix and HPE have a long-term strategy to optimize Citrix workloads for any use case, using a wide range of HPE solutions, from the Edgeline to the HPE Hyper-Converged HC380 with SimpliVity solutions to the industry-leading HPE Synergy platform and HPE’s Microsoft Azure Stack offerings.

What’s next for Citrix and HPE? We’re just getting started and look forward to announcing new products and services as they develop. Stay tuned.
