Preview next-generation user experience technologies

The preview release of our new adaptive transport provides an early look into the next generation of XenApp and XenDesktop user experience technologies. Our own internal testing has shown remarkable improvements in UI responsiveness at high network latency and dramatic increases in the speed of file transfers and print jobs. A preview is available for admins to see the benefits of the major advances we’re making to industry-standard user experience technology with HDX in XenApp, XenDesktop 7.12 and Receiver for Windows 4.6.

Optimal performance of HTML5 video with redirection

Many websites and industry vendors are transitioning to HTML5 as a primary delivery mechanism for video. With the 7.12 release, only XenApp and XenDesktop can now redirect the processing of rich HTML5 content to the endpoint for optimal performance and increased server scalability. HTML5 video redirection in this first phase of release, is available for internal sites that are controlled by IT.  Try it out today at this URL https://www.citrix.com/virtualization/hdx/html5-redirect.html using the new Receiver for Windows 4.6

Keyboard layout synchronization

Citrix Receiver for Windows provides dynamic synchronization of the keyboard layout from the client and the VDA in a session. This enables users to switch among preferred keyboard layouts on the client device, providing a consistent user experience when, for example, switching the touch keyboard layout from English to Spanish. This capability is enabled in XenApp and XenDesktop 7.12 release.

SNI support

Now you can use Receiver connection to NetScaler Gateway with Server Name Indication (SNI) configured so that users can launch desktops and applications successfully without additional configuration. For more information on SNI, see Knowledge Center article CTX125798.
