Five years ago, Citrix released Machine Creation Services. As a way to help people decide between Provisioning Services and Machine Creation Services, I created a decision tree that broke the decision across multiple requirements.
A lot has changed.
Provisioning Services changed.
Machine Creation Services changed.
You know what didn’t change? The decision tree. It is old. It is outdated. It is no longer useful.
So what’s my recommendation to you? STOP USING IT!
For 2016, as I consider what an admin should consider before selection either Provisioning Services or Machine Creation Services, I ended up identifying criteria across 6 different points:

After going through the 6 decision points, you can quickly see how each approach has made great strides over the past 5 years.
