Windows 11 is available for both on-prem and cloud-hosted environments, bringing greater flexibility and value to your VDI and DaaS deployments. If you are running Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops on-prem, the Current Release (CR) 2109 and newer VDA provides an excellent opportunity to upgrade your Citrix environment while trying out this latest OS. Know Before You Deploy

With this new version of Windows, it is important to evaluate your current environment prior to upgrading your users. Before deploying, consider the following:

  • Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 2109 offer support for this OS platform (using 2109 and newer VDA) across on-prem and cloud-hosted environments, including Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Citrix is ready with Day 1 support of both single-session and multi-session Windows 11. Keep in mind that Azure Virtual Desktop provides exclusive support for multi-session Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 support on all machines, either built-in to the CPU or connected separately as an additional chip to the motherboard. If you are looking to install onto existing hardware, be sure to review the complete system requirements.
  • Please note that Citrix Hypervisor does not currently offer the ability to enable virtual TPM (vTPM) for Windows 11 support.
