Citrix and Google have been hard at work to ensure our customers have an enterprise-ready solution that enables companies worldwide to transform the way their customers get work done. Citrix Endpoint Management provides customers with the ability to leverage the significant benefits the Android Enterprise platform provides by delivering innovative and comprehensive management to serve every use case and customer, including BYOD, corporate-only, and single-use deployments.

One key area of focus has been our efforts around Android 11 and securing the workspace. For both Citrix and Google, user privacy and digital wellbeing is top of mind. In Android 11, the work profile brings the same leading privacy protection of the work profile on employee-owned devices to company-owned devices. IT admins can take advantage of the work profile’s extensive data management capabilities to ensure work data stays secure, as well as new asset management features and personal usage policies to keep company devices compliant with corporate policy without visibility into personal apps and data. With Android 11, employees can also disconnect from work easily and seamlessly by setting a daily schedule to pause the work profile and turn it back on. It’s easy to add a few more minutes to complete a task without altering the schedule.

With all these great features and Android 11 now available, there has never been a better (or more critical) time to migrate to Android Enterprise. Continued support for Google’s newest APIs for Android Enterprise will mean upon the release of Citrix Secure Hub 20.11.X (planned for November), Citrix Secure Hub will be upgraded to API/SDK Level 29. As a result, once on API/SDK, Level 29 will no longer support Android 10+ devices enrolled in Legacy Device Admin mode due to Google’s new device management API requirements. Customers can remain on previous versions of Citrix Secure Hub for continued use of Android 10+ devices in Legacy Device Admin mode. It is also important to note that devices on Android 9 and below will not be affected by this upgrade.
