The Click-Down: Episode 2 – What happens when the cloud fails?
Is there anything more frustrating than something failing that you expected to work? We are wired for things to always work as planned. But the reality is failures happen — outages occur, devices break, and sometimes cloud services are unavailable.
And this is nothing new. IT admins have always had to prepare for the worst so, on the off chance that something goes wrong, the impact on end users is minimal. After all, lost productivity equals lost revenue, and that’s something everyone wants to avoid.
Last year, Citrix introduced Service Continuity, which reduces the dependency on the availability of cloud services. This means that end users can still launch their virtual apps and desktops even when cloud services are down or when outages occur. Service Continuity increases the resiliency of the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service.
On episode 2 of The Click-Down podcast, Dan Feller and I discuss the benefits of turning on Service Continuity. Fernando Klurfan, Principal Product Manager at Citrix, joins us for an in-depth discussion on how Service Continuity works and how it can minimize dependency on cloud services. Join us as we take a deep dive into how Service Continuity came about and what it can do for you.
