As more and more customers embark on their cloud journey, I often get asked questions about how to best shift from a business-as-usual IT architecture and operations model to a solution that better meets the needs of end users in a simple-to-manage and easy-to-deploy manner.
I also work with a lot of companies with existing Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments that are along different phases in their cloud journey, whether they are just testing the waters or going full steam ahead.
Common themes I come across are that yesterday’s architecture brings challenges around manageability, supportability, and flexibility. In addition, end users are demanding changes in how they work.
Enter Citrix Cloud as a major piece of the conversation around how companies are changing the way they do business. For Virtual Apps and Desktops customers, Citrix Cloud offers a way by which Citrix takes on infrastructure management while leaving the user workloads up to the responsibility of the customer in any resource location they choose (i.e. on-premises, public, or private cloud).
Not only that, Citrix Cloud provides a portfolio of services that either aren’t available in a traditional customer-managed deployment or make it a lot simpler to implement. Currently there are over a dozen services, including Virtual Apps and Desktops, Content Collaboration, and Endpoint Management — and that list is growing at a fast pace.
In addition to moving the services people are familiar with to Citrix Cloud, Citrix has developed new innovations for new use cases and improved manageability. Two of those services are Citrix Secure Workspace Access and Citrix Analytics.
- Citrix Secure Workspace Access adds a new set of experience options to Citrix Workspace so users can easily and securely connect to applications and data. It enables administrators to provide a new experience, integrating SSO, remote access, and policy-based security and decision making.
- Citrix Analytics allows administrators to monitor and identify inconsistent or suspicious activity on their networks. It collects data across the Citrix portfolio and employs machine learning and algorithms to provide insights into user behavior.
