When we first introduced Citrix Networking solutions on AWS, we were excited to offer customers a simple and seamless way to extend their secure networks to the cloud with the reliability of leading cloud provider. Citrix SD-WAN for AWS offers the same powerful features, including app performance optimization, intelligent traffic steering, failover resilience, and security, in a way that is easy to deploy in the cloud.

Now, with Citrix SD-WAN support for the new AWS Transit Gateway Connect, bringing your reliable, secure network to the cloud is easier than ever before.

What Is AWS Transit Gateway?

AWS Transit Gateway connects virtual private clouds (VPCs) and on-premises networks via a central hub, simplifying the network and allowing customers to connect VPCs across Regions and AWS accounts. The benefits include easier connectivity, better visibility, easier management, and improved security.

Citrix SD-WAN Support

With Citrix SD-WAN support for the new AWS Transit Gateway Connect, a single Transit Gateway Connect can provide the high bandwidth interconnect with dynamic routing capability between your SD-WAN and AWS Cloud. Through a single workflow on Citrix SD-WAN Orchestrator, you can natively integrate with the AWS Transit Gateway Connect and create a single entry-point to your entire network on AWS. This allows your branch users to directly connect to AWS workloads running in your VPCs over an SD-WAN tunnel. Other benefits include improving scalability and eliminating BGP peering fatigue at the corporate VPN termination hub site. As you move workloads to AWS, you can automatically connect your SD-WAN VPX in AWS to the rest of your workloads running in other VPCs.

By accessing resources in AWS from branches over an SD-WAN virtual path, you get benefits including:

  • Link bonding
  • Per packet traffic handling for fast failover (under 200ms)
  • Dual-ended QoS
  • Packet racing over multiple links for critical traffic like audio
  • Next-gen integrated edge firewall
