Remember when we used to go to technology conferences in person, in cool cities, where we would learn, network, come up with innovative new ideas, and have fun? I’m not going to lie, I miss it. On the other hand, I do appreciate the creative ways tech companies are doing virtual events and am impressed with the reach and impact they can still have. One big piece that is still missing for me though is celebrating with our customers and Google Cloud, a Citrix strategic partner who I get to work with every day. Because I can’t do that this year in person, I’d like to make a virtual toast instead. So here it goes:
“Here’s to our Citrix and Google customers who are reaping the benefits from all the new solutions coming from our partnership this year. I’m amazed at our teams’ innovative approach, collaborative spirit, and passion for customer success and am thrilled to hear about how our joint customers are benefiting as a result. Cheers to a fantastic partnership and to our inspiring customers who are changing the way work gets done!”
It really is inspiring to see the way customers have adapted to new hybrid working models this year. And with Citrix Workspace, Google Cloud, Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), and Chrome Enterprise we are helping organizations work securely, in the cloud, wherever their employees are. Check out how we do it.

Google Cloud at the Citrix Summit Series
Even though we weren’t in Las Vegas or another fun city this year for our big industry event, we were out there showcasing our new brand, with our Citrix Summit Series, available on demand. A key highlight at our Citrix Cloud Summit was having Kirsten Kliphouse, President, North America, Google Cloud, talk with Tim Minahan, Executive Vice President, Business Strategy and Chief Marketing Officer, about moving Citrix workloads to Google Cloud securely and efficiently. If you missed it, check it out on our Citrix Cloud Summit page.
Kirsten and Tim discussed our strategic partnership and a few of the new features for our customers running Citrix workloads in Google Cloud. They talked about how with Shared VPC Support in Citrix Machine Creation Services (MCS) customers can leverage Google Cloud Shared VPC configurations with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops to simplify and share configuration, delegate administration, and define reusable network configurations. Also, having Sole Tenant Support for MCS enables configuration of Windows 10 VDAs on dedicated host hardware inside GCP, supporting BYO License scenarios, as well as new data compliance/HIPAA scenarios inside Google Cloud.
These new features, combined with Google Cloud’s custom instance types, rightsizing recommendations, “cold potato” routing traffic on their network (i.e. provides ingress at the closest edge network PoP, allowing traffic to traverse their phenomenal network to the target resource), are all compelling reasons to include GCP as a target landing zone for Citrix workloads.
Citrix and Google Cloud Enhance Workspace Security with Zero Trust
I’m also thrilled to share that Citrix has joined the Google BeyondCorp Alliance! Citrix and Google Cloud are committed to leading the way to help our customers modernize their security approaches. Our product teams and architects have been ideating, testing, and validating Citrix Workspace and Citrix Access Control scenarios with BeyondCorp solutions over the past few months and have released our first set of use cases and reference architectures. Learn more here about how our combined capabilities help keep employees as productive and secure from home as they were in the office. And check out the Citrix blog post on our Google-Citrix zero trust security solutions to learn more.
We’re also excited to announce the expansion of digital workspace security offerings with our Citrix Ready Workspace Security Program, which now includes zero trust solutions from our key partners. Naturally, Google BeyondCorp is one of the first partners to join our program with a new, validated Citrix Ready solution. Products like BeyondCorp Remote Access, a cloud-based solution offered by Google Cloud, helps to make access to internal applications easier and more secure with Citrix Workspace. It’s been an exciting month for our Google and Citrix partnership and we’re not even done! Register here for our Citrix Security Summit to hear from Sunil Potti, VP and GM Google Cloud Security, about Citrix and BeyondCorp.
