Citrix Converge 2020 is the first developer conference spanning the full range of Citrix technologies. As Steve Wilson, VP of Products for Cloud and IoT, explained in his blog post earlier this month, our previous Converge events have focused on developers creating microapps for Citrix Workspace. This time we’re opening the doors even wider, to coders, scripters and builders working with the full range of Citrix technologies.
This free, global, virtual conference runs November 2-13, and you can sign up now. Feel free to simply register now and get on with your busy day, or keep reading for all the details.
Citrix Converge 2020 Themes
While the overarching theme of the conference is building the future of work, breakout sessions are focused on three themes key to professionals in our developer and technical communities: migrating to cloud, automating administration, and enhancing employee productivity. Converge brings you essential content direct from experts both within Citrix and from our global community of customers and partners.
Three Tracks
Converge spans the breadth of the Citrix platform: There are keynote and breakout sessions covering all our product lines. We’ve organized sessions into three tracks so you can easily pick out content that’s relevant to you.
Apps and Desktop Virtualization
Here you’ll find sessions covering Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and related technologies. There’s a heavy focus on automating administration via REST APIs and PowerShell, across the full range of deployment scenarios, from on premises to public cloud.
App Delivery and Security
Over in the product-line-formerly-known-as-networking, the emphasis is on Citrix ADC and Citrix ADM. Among the topics on offer are deep dives into cloud-native and hybrid multi-cloud issues, as well as leveraging NITRO APIs for automation alongside tools for deployment such as Ansible and Terraform, securing your applications and APIs in a multi-cloud infrastructure, and migrating configuration across sites.
App Creation and Collaboration
This is the track for app builders, particularly those creating microapps for Citrix Workspace. Sessions will cover all aspects of building microapps and integrations, from hands-on tutorials to customer case studies. You’ll learn new techniques for improving your users’ experience by streamlining their interactions with a whole range of systems.
Designed for a Virtual Audience
Converge will open on Monday, November 2, with a plenary keynote revealing the vision of Citrix as a platform. Week 1 will continue with keynotes for each of the three tracks, as well as high-level breakout sessions and coffee breaks. Week 2 will dive deeper into the technical details, with breakouts covering more advanced topics.
Keynotes and breakout sessions will be prerecorded and staged across the two weeks of the conference. Each session will debut with a “watch party” where you can ask questions of the presenter(s) as you watch the presentation. Don’t worry if you miss the party — every session will also be available on-demand after its premiere.
Throughout the event you’ll be able to network with like-minded attendees and Citrix employees. It’s much more than just chat — it’s a community, learning and building the future of work together.
Coffee breaks will allow you to interact directly with key Citrix executives; you’ll be able to “ask them anything,” live. Again, we’ll record these for posterity, so you’ll be able to catch up after the fact.
One Hackathon
The Converge Hackathon will run for the two-week duration of the conference, giving you the chance to compete for a range of awesome prizes by innovating using any Citrix technology. Entries must be submitted by midnight, Pacific time, on Friday, November 13. Judging will take place the following week, and winners will be announced on Friday, November 20. Watch for more Converge Hackathon details as the event approaches!
