Citrix is broadening the availability of its ADC product line in AWS with more choices and simplifying the deployment process to accelerate the customer journey to AWS cloud.

This week, at AWS re:Invent, we’re announcing an integrated solution with Amazon VPC ingress routing; AWS Outposts support; support for four more AWS regions; the highest performing ADC on AWS with Nitro based EC2 instances support; and a Quick Start offering for Citrix ADC. It has never been easier for customers to choose how they deploy Citrix ADC in AWS.

Integration with Amazon VPC Ingress for Improved Security Compliance

AWS recently introduced Amazon VPC ingress routing, which allows customers to more easily control the route their traffic takes in and out of VPCs and enables them to direct it to third-party network and security appliances. Citrix is pleased to announce a new solution, validated with AWS, that integrates with Amazon VPC ingress and uses the routing functionality to enhance firewall load balancing and intrusion detection services.

The solution enables customers to consolidate inspection services into a single services VPC for more efficient scalability and reduced complexity. Moreover, because this solution ensures all the required inspections occur and enforces the correct routing for traffic among on-prem data centers, AWS, and the internet, customers can accelerate their journey to the cloud with confidence that their security compliance requirements are met.

Citrix ADC Validation for AWS Outposts

For customers that have latency-sensitive applications or are bound by compliance regulations and simply have to deploy apps on premises, Citrix is excited to announce that Citrix ADC is validated with AWS Outposts. AWS Outposts bring native AWS services, infrastructure, and operating models to your on-premises facility. Customers can use the same Citrix ADCs, AWS APIs, tools, and infrastructure across on premises and the AWS cloud for a consistent hybrid experience. Citrix is one of first ADCs validated for AWS Outposts.

Customers can choose to use the AWS tools with which they’re familiar, like CloudWatch, or use Citrix Application Delivery Management (ADM), which provides monitoring for Citrix ADCs and offers actionable insight into application health and performance from a single pane of glass. And, when coupled with the flexibility of Citrix ADC pooled capacity licensing, customers can effortlessly move ADC capacity between on-prem and the cloud.

Support for Four New AWS Regions

Citrix is aggressively expanding the presence of its ADC product in the AWS cloud, extending availability in four new AWS regions covering Asia, Europe, and the U.S. Government in Q4CY19 (in addition to the 15 regions already available). These new regions are AWS China, AWS Hong Kong, AWS Paris, and AWS GovCloud US East. This enables customers to use Citrix ADC to locate their content closer to their audience and to deliver a better user experience.

Support for Nitro 5th Generation EC2 Instances Support

Citrix ADC is now available to run on the latest 5th generation C5, M5 and C5n EC2 Nitro instance types. Now customers can get up to 30Gbps performance — the highest performing ADC on AWS — to support new instance types. Citrix ADC leverages the AWS Nitro system’s dedicated hardware, which includes enhanced network adaptors and a lightweight AWS Nitro hypervisor.

Citrix Quick Start – Enabling Infrastructure as Code

Citrix is making infrastructure as code a reality with Citrix ADC Quick Start. Citrix ADC Quick Start automates ADC configuration with best practices templates and reduces the number of configuration steps to make deployment faster and to cut down on manual errors. It also dramatically lowers the level of skill required to migrate applications to the cloud. We created it in partnership with AWS solution architects to ensure best practices are followed.

Citrix ADC Quick Start automates an entire Citrix ADC infrastructure in AWS, complete with associated elastic IP addresses and subnets, an internet gateway, security groups, and route tables. It is also extensible and allows complete customization, if required.

Citrix provides a proven solutions to scale in the AWS environment and ensure the availability, performance, and security customers demand for their applications.
