The mission for Citrix Analytics is to secure the user’s workspace and the resources the user is consuming through it. As the next step in this journey, we are excited to announce a joint solution with Ping Identity to enable contextual access to Citrix Workspace.

Since the Citrix Analytics Service launch late last year, we have delivered functionality to help secure the Workspace. We use machine learning to model the normal behavior of Workspace users and generate risk signals when the user exhibits behavior out of the norm.

Also, the admin can configure closed-loop actions to reduce risk and increase trust in the use of Workspace. For example, the admin can configure a policy to proactively log out a user when the user’s risk score becomes high. These capabilities give the admin complete control over what users can do within the workspace and take quick remedial actions if risky behavior is identified.

We wanted to take it a step further and empower the admin to leverage the user’s risk information to implement a granular access policy and protect access to Citrix Workspace, in addition to usage. That’s why we’re partnering with Ping Identity.

At the time of the user login, Ping as the authenticator will communicate with Citrix Analytics to identify the user risk profile and then enforce appropriate authentication policy such as a step up multi-factor authentication (MFA) to grant access to “risky” users and rules to restrict usage of sensitive resources based on activities. This enables the overall solution to dynamically adjust the access level based on user behavior.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Citrix to further secure the access and usage of Workspace resources with our Intelligent Identity Platform,” said Bernard Harguindeguy, Chief Technology Officer and SVP at Ping Identity. “When combined with Citrix Analytics, Ping Identity’s MFA and adaptive policy control can greatly optimize security and user convenience at the same time.”
