Citrix XenApp preferential load balancing
Ensure performance of hosted applications for key users
Citrix XenApp provides preferential load balancing, prioritizing XenApp sessions for key users and applications and ensuring no-compromise performance for XenApp-hosted applications.
Imagine a hospital, where nurses are making the rounds, taking routine patient measurements and entering the results into the electronic medical records (EMR) application delivered by XenApp. At the same time, a doctor in the operating room needs to access the Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) and make a split-second decision. With preferential load balancing, the doctors XenApp sessions are prioritized over the nurses sessions.
Preferential load balancing works by assigning session importance and then routing sessions based on that importance. XenApp session importance policies can be set based on IP address, client name, server name or user ID. Preferential load balancing also works with XenApp CPU management to partition server resources after the user has connected.
Overview of preferential load balancing and CPU management in Citrix XenApp 5Vinny Sosa, Sr. technical marketing manager, discusses how preferential load balancing and CPU management in XenApp 5 help you provide the best performance for your most critical users and the applications they need to access. |
