Citrix Workspace product release roadmap

The Citrix Workspace product roadmap lists updates that are currently planned for the Citrix Workspace platform, as provided by Citrix Cloud services. The capabilities and updates listed in this roadmap are an entitlement of the comprehensive Citrix Workspace Premium Plus service. Updates and capabilities are at various stages of development and availability for customers world-wide. Please note, the features in development below are only publicly announced development items. Many more features and enhancements are being developed behind the scenes.

Updates and capabilities fully released that are now generally available for applicable customers.

Citrix Workspace experience U/I enumerates and displays the following workspace resources within the user interface based on customer entitlement.

  • Virtual apps & desktops managed via Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops service
  • Virtual apps & desktops managed via Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops 7 (previously XenApp & XenDesktop)
  • Mobile applications & productivity apps via Citrix Endpoint Management service (previously XenMobile)
  • Mobile applications & productivity apps via XenMobile Server
  • SaaS applications, including Office 365, via Citrix Access Control service (previously NetScaler Gateway service)
  • Web (intranet) applications via Citrix Access Control service (previously NetScaler Gateway service)

Citrix Workspace platform integrates with identity providers to authenticate users.

  • On-prem Active Directory
  • Azure Active Directory without SSO to apps/desktops

Admins can configure the following authentication modes to enable users to login to the Citrix Workspace.

Citrix Workspace experience U/I works in conjunction with the associated identity provider to deliver instant, password-free access to the following resources.

  • Virtual apps & desktops
  • Mobile applications & productivity
  • SaaS applications (including Office 365)

Citrix Workspace introduces the following new user experience capabilities to simplify the overall user experience.

  • Display recently accessed apps, desktops and files
  • Empower users to tag their favorite apps, desktops and files
  • Search for apps and desktops by name
  • Citrix Casting integration with Citrix Workspace hub
  • Search for files by name
  • Open files with virtual app
  • Personal Cloud Connectors OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, Google Drive

Updates and capabilities currently on the roadmap

Citrix Workspace UI plans to enumerate and display the following workspace resources within the user interface based on customer entitlement.

  • Virtual apps & desktops managed via Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD)
  • Virtual apps & desktops managed via VMware Horizon
  • Migration Service for existing XenMobile customers to get UEM Service integration feed to prevent re-enrollment

Citrix Workspace platform integrates with identity providers to authenticate users.

  • Azure Active Directory with SSO to virtual apps and desktops
  • On-premise Citrix Gateway AAA (previously Citrix Netscaler AAA)
  • Okta
  • Google

Admins can configure the following authentication modes to enable users to login to the Citrix Workspace

  • Active Directory with advanced Time based One Time Password (TOTP) like multi-device registration and automatic push notification to end user app for login acceptance.
  • Cloud-Enabled Federated Authentication Service
  • Support for on-premises Radius
  • Integration with 3rd party vendors
  • Active Directory with Time based One Time Password (TOTP) as a second factor of authentication
  • Web (intranet) applications

Citrix Workspace introduces the following new user experience capabilities to simplify the overall user experience.
