Frequently asked questions

DaaS is a managed secure cloud app and desktops service that quickly and efficiently delivers virtual desktop and application workloads from the public cloud. The service is offered as a subscription from the provider with varying levels of management and features available.

DaaS is incredibly turn-key which allows customers to go from nothing to cloud-delivered virtual desktops and apps within hours. Virtual desktop infrastructure does not have the same benefits as DaaS since it is an on-premises solution. VDI solutions are more limited.

  • DaaS offers a simplified way to deliver virtual apps and desktops from the cloud to any device.
  • It offers greater simplicity, agility, and often cost savings as well compared to on-premises and customer-managed solutions.
  • IT can quickly scale and deploy apps and desktops up, or down, to users across the globe and pay for what they use.

The DaaS provider makes available all the required cloud infrastructure and management components. Subscribers, sign-up for the service and provision the type and number of cloud virtual machines required to support their workloads. Then users connect from any device over the Internet to securely access these resources.
