For international manufacturing businesses such as Arca Continental, one of the largest Coca-Cola bottlers in the world, the logistics of delivering shipments to different global locations is quite complex. Additional to the beverage business, Arca Continental owns Wise Foods, one of the oldest snack brands sold in the U.S.; is the majority stakeholder of PetStar, which is the largest food-grade recycling plant in the world; runs a vending machine business unit with 44,000 machines; participates in several sugar mills in Mexico and Argentina; manages dairy businesses in Ecuador and Mexico; operates Bokados, one of the leading snack brands in Mexico; and, lastly, owns Inalecsa, the leading bakery in Ecuador. Arca Continental sells to large corporations as well as more than one million small local businesses, and operates over 400 dispersed distribution centers, with over one million transactions daily, and four million boxes of product delivered daily. Citrix technology helps to make it possible for the processes and systems across this wide variety of companies to operate consistently and securely 24 hours a day, seven days a week so that customers of all sizes receive efficient and consistent service.

Arca Continental takes pride in the Latin America culture, the family, and small “mom-and-pop” grocery stores, or “tienditas,” that make up the hub of the neighborhood by providing not only snacks and drinks, but a place to pay a bill, buy prepaid phone cards, money transfers and more. These stores are essential to the livelihood of many rural communities. More than sixty-five percent of Arca Continental’s sales come from the “tienditas” segment and much of the business mission centers on empowering these small business owners to succeed.
