The 49ers have a rich history as both a team and a business. Today they’re one of the most valuable brands in the NFL, and that’s not only because of their performance on the field. It’s also because the 49ers—like successful businesses all over the world across industries—have used new technologies to keep up with the changing times and the changing expectations of their customers.

Our technology story

Situated as they are in the heart of Silicon Valley, the 49ers chose to step forward as a pioneer in the use of innovative technology. They wanted new ways to streamline operations and collaboration, both in the back office and out on the road. They also wanted new ways to enhance the fan experience, both for those coming to the stadium and for those watching at home. So, they assembled a team of the world’s leading technology partners.

Citrix solutions support secure and reliable collaboration across the organization and Wrike, the newest Citrix product, led the implantation and distribution of the historic 75th anniversary logo for the 2021 season.

Wrike keeps the team working together and celebrating 75 years of football.

In 2021 the Monterey Peninsula Foundation surpassed $200 million in charitable giving. The proceeds from MPF events support more than 200 nonprofits through a competitive grant-making process, and the secure management of data throughout this grant-making cycle is vital to MPF’s operations.
With the help of Citrix as the Official Innovation Partner of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, MPF has deployed technology to support collaboration, app delivery and security, and secure access. This has helped to streamline tournament planning and empowered a more agile workflow, while at the same time creating more time for MPF to focus on its mission and the communities it serves.

Since the implementation of Citrix, MPF team has improved collaboration across the organization and communication has gotten easier, not to mention the greater peace of mind around the security of their data. Together, these elements empower MPF employees to work more efficiently and effectively. Thinking ahead for future events, MPF leaders plan to use Citrix to modernize their strategic planning methods.

Our support of the tournament directly benefits the Monterey Peninsula Foundation.

Citrix is the proud technology and innovation partner of the Vattenfall Solar Team. The Vattenfall Solar Team includes 17 students from the Delft University of Technology based in the Netherlands. Vattenfall Solar Team started in 1999 when two students from Delft University of Technology were inspired by the film “Race the Sun.” Just like the main characters, they decided to participate in the World Solar Challenge. Together with the first Dutch astronaut Wubbo Ockels, they set the foundation of their team spirit. The team has inspired Citrix to join their journey. In their words: “Work from anywhere, on any device. With the right digital workspace technology, there is no limit to what you can achieve. This has been more important than ever with designing and building our solar car during COVID-times!” Besides designing, building and racing with solar cars, their mission is to inspire the world for sustainability and innovation.

Sustainability should be a priority in the things we do, the solutions and services we sell, how we treat people, and the initiatives we support. Over the last two decades, this team from TU Delft have been pioneers of solar energy and mobility transition and has achieved great results. For Citrix, this collaboration provides an opportunity to raise awareness around the themes of sustainability and innovation.

Over the years, the Delft team has amassed a huge amount of data, and they want to use this data, in combination with real-time race data to make their solar car as efficient as possible. Citrix ShareFile is suited to securely sync, store and share files. During races itself, real-time data on the weather, road conditions and car performance are correlated with historical data. Additionally, to reach as many people as possible and get our message across via social media to a wide audience, ShareFile will play a critical role. ShareFile will be instrumental in making the team win again and “let the world know.”
