Elon Soddu was appointed Head Mixologist at The Savoy in September 2020.
The Roman-native, who grew up in Sardinia, first began work in the hospitality industry over 20 years ago. Elon started out his journey as a luggage porter, and progressed as a waiter in an array of bars and restaurants where his passion for making drinks was solidified. Having honed his skills at one of the most reputable hotels in Sardinia, Elon relocated to London in 2014. Here, he landed a job at the back of the bar at Blue Bar in the Berkeley Hotel and then moved onto House of Ho, where he was bartender in 2015. The following year, in 2016, Elon was offered a place on the team at the Beaufort Bar, and two years later accepted the prestigious role of Head Bartender. A further two years later, Elon was appointed Head Mixologist at The Savoy, a newly created role in the organisation’s restructuring.
Elon now oversees the creation of drinks throughout The Savoy, working with the wider Food & Beverage team to create unique experiences for their guests.
Elon comments on his role: ‘My aim is to elevate the quality of service for our guests. My goal is to deliver a space in the hotel where they can have a completely unique experience.’ Ambitious, innovative and dedicated, Elon is at the very forefront of the Beaufort Bar’s forthcoming creative direction.
