The impacts of COVID-19 are everywhere. In our homes, at our schools, within our local businesses…and the list goes on. Change isn’t just happening at a global level. It’s affecting our communities, too. Which is why Citrix has decided it’s time to take a stand. A $17 million stand, to be exact. We’ve been both thrilled and humbled by the outpouring of support among our employees for those in need — and we want to help them do even more.
Corporate social responsibility has long been at the core of Citrix culture. And now, it’s front and center.
It’s not just the virus itself that’s cause for concern. Countless families and children are being impacted in distinct and difficult ways. Across our communities, we’ve witnessed the tragic effects of food insecurity for so many. We’ve heard stories about customers and employees who are shouldering heavy burdens — and about parents left with no choice but to teach, work and care for family… all at the same time.
Now more than ever, people are in need. And Citrix is here to help. After being inspired by our employees and considering several paths we might take, we’re focusing our corporate social responsibility efforts on nourishing the minds and bodies of families in our communities.
Here are just a few of the many steps we’re taking
In addition to annual corporate giving programs, Citrix is devoting $17 million to support the communities where we live and work. It’s our responsibility to help nourish the minds and bodies of fellow families, and we take this job to heart. Because together, we can usher in a brighter tomorrow.
Citrix has always matched employee giving. And in trying times, we want to do even more. Through June 30, 2020, every charitable dollar donated to COVID-19 related causes will be not only matched but doubled. With hundreds of thousands of dollars already going to charitable organizations through our employee match program each year, we’re excited to take this commitment even further.
Citrix employees receive two paid days per calendar year to volunteer at nonprofits of their choice. But with social distancing limitations and lockdowns in place, it was time to get creative. Our new virtual volunteer opportunities let employees use their paid volunteer time to help support those in need.
Partner highlight: Girls Who Code
Girls Who Code has long been working to bridge the inequities of educational access, and the current pandemic is no exception. The organization has launched free, easy-to-access Code at Home activities for millions of students and educators while schools are closed.
Citrix is a strong believer in the power of the Girls Who Code program. We know there’s a lot of work to do to increase the number of women in the computer science profession, and we’re committed to being a part of the solution.
We’re showing our support by matching every dollar donated by employees, customers and partners — up to $50,000 — to continue paving the way to a more equal, empowered and educated future.
