Citrix was the first in the industry to deliver a solution for optimizing web-based Microsoft Teams in a virtual environment. Now we are offering a fully native, fully-featured Microsoft Teams experience within Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7. To ensure the best possible user experience of a virtualized instance of Teams, Citrix optimizes the delivery of voice, video and telephony features of a fully native Microsoft Teams client within a virtualized environment. Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops maximizes server scalability by redirecting multi-media capabilities to the client for a high-performance user experience.
New in Virtual Apps and Desktops, User Personalization Layers are writeable elastic layers which allow IT organizations to provide a persistent experience to users logging into non-persistent desktops. Built using App Layering technology, User Personalization Layers are a native component of Virtual Apps and Desktops that require no new infrastructure or image maintenance. Designed as a Personal vDisk (PvD) replacement, this functionality gives administrators the ability to provide a customized user experience with the best TCO.

This cloud-hosted solution is a turnkey service that enables any organization with any level of IT expertise to quickly deliver Windows-based applications and desktops to their workforce. In late 2018, Citrix moved to a new versioning scheme to make it easier for customers to determine when the version was released. The “7” ensures platform versioning consistency, indicating that this is the same industry-leading platform for app and desktop virtualization as the previous XenApp and XenDesktop 7.x releases. The “1811” represents the actual version. This new numbering strategy is very similar in nature to Microsoft’s versioning strategy - the last four numbers make it easy to quickly determine when the version was released as it is represented by year and month (YYMM format).
