“Working at Citrix has set the bar high for my future employers.”
Hi, I’m Aniket and I worked at Citrix for six months. During my time at Citrix I provided expertise in the web development activities of the Citrix Content Collaboration product, developed a page to enable convenient access to account settings, and created the first ever mobile responsive page of the application. I have always had a desire to pursue Web Development as a career and having a passion for web technologies and product development made my experience at Citrix very worthwhile.
I am originally from Raleigh, NC and first met the Citrix team at the North Carolina State University career fair. I talked to a few representatives and was instantly intrigued by this position. After a brief chat at the career fair, I was invited for an on-site interview at the Raleigh office. The questions during the interview were challenging yet relevant to my role. I also appreciated that it was the team I would be working with that conducted the interview.
As a Web Applications Intern I started with the simple bug fixes until I got comfortable with the project and development culture of my team. Soon I was trusted with ownership of some pretty hefty projects. I was in charge of the entire process of design, development, and testing.
My role required a great deal of web technologies and software development. Good software engineering practices and communication skills are a plus- and if you enjoy playing table tennis or pool that is an added bonus as the team usually likes to take a break and socialize during a game of table tennis or pool.
Over the course of my internship, I learned about KnockoutJs, Domain segregated web applications, Web application infrastructure and responsive design. These are the various aspects of working with the Citrix Content Collaboration team that I was able to also take away from my internship.
Working at Citrix has given me a good experience into the product development environment and has set the bar high for my future employers!

“The culture at Citrix is one where everyone is focused on making an amazing product, but they are also encouraged to build that product together.”
Hi, I’m Ankit! I worked at Citrix over the summer of 2015. During my time with Citrix, I worked on some algorithms behind a new project that my team was starting up that eventually also translated into an internal tool for the Citrix ADC team.
I chose this role for my internship because I really love building cool things on the computer. This is also one of the many reasons why I chose to become a software engineer.
I applied online for this internship on Citrix careers page and I was put in contact with the University Relations recruitment team. The Recruiter guided me through the process of interviewing. I then spoke with my technical manager, and I had two technical interviews with two of the great engineers on the Citrix ADC team.
What I loved most about my time as an intern was that I had amazing and supportive mentors who encouraged me to push myself with cool projects and solve even harder problems.
To be successful in this type of position, you will need to have the willingness to learn quickly and the openness and confidence to ask for help. I learned an amazing amount of new things about software development and about working on a full-scale project from start to finish.
Everyone at Citrix is very supportive, helpful, and intelligent. I think the culture at Citrix is one where everyone is focused on making an amazing product, but they are also encouraged to build that product together.
Apart from teaching me invaluable technical skills, observing the amazing culture at Citrix has taught me what working in a corporate environment should really be like.

“I chose Citrix for my internship because of its great culture and being in the forefront of technology. At Citrix they help people live better lives by improving the way we do business.”
Hi, my name is Ashton and I was an intern in the Talent Acquisition department at Citrix Systems in Fort Lauderdale. During my time at Citrix I led Citrix’s Sparc Campaign, a personalized recruiting tool that engages prospective employees with videos of their potential co-workers and managers. This tool would provide them with useful information about Citrix. I also designed info-graphics, filmed promotional videos, and created online surveys to gain Citrix employee’s buy in with the Sparc Campaign. I was able to utilize Google Analytics for Citrix’s career site which helped identify user demographics, understand behaviors, traffic origination, and measure site goal achievement.
I chose Citrix for my internship because of its great culture and being in the forefront of technology that helps people live better lives in the way they do business.
What I liked most about Citrix were the people and the culture. Everyone was on the same page and wanted to help each other. Even though I was only there for a couple of weeks, I was able to build deep bonds with my fellow co-workers.
The types of skills you need to be successful in this position are an entrepreneurial mindset along with marketing and communication skills.
My first impression of Citrix was the unique culture and great people. The people all shared the same mindset that allowed them to be a cohesive team. I even was able to talk to CEO in person twice, which doesn't happen in many companies.
Working at Citrix has made me a better business professional by giving me leadership skills, communication skills, and a different perspective.

“Citrix is an amazing place to work. The people here are great. I get to do what I love so it doesn’t really feel like work.”
Hi, my name is Carlos and I have been working with Citrix since April of 2015 in the Engineering Infrastructure team under the Product Services Group. My role mainly consisted of providing Infrastructure support to Engineering teams in Fort Lauderdale, as well as, helping out other team members at other Global Sites. This included Networking, Storage, Active Directory Management, Support Tickets, and VMs.
I choose this as my career because I have been doing a much smaller scale version of this job as a consultant for a very small company since I graduated high school. I wanted something more challenging and more stable.
In my position you need to be a very quick learner with good technical skills. You must also be able to set up new and unfamiliar hardware, as well as, know how to use them and how they work. Domain management is another big skill required; we are constantly doing share permission requests and maintaining our DCs.
Understanding Storage is very important as we maintain the main storage repositories for the major Citrix Engineering departments around the globe. Virtualization experience is another major plus. And do not be afraid of the CLI. Make sure you document any projects you do as it will help you out in the future.
During my 6 months at Citrix I have learned a whole lot of new stuff. I really only had experience in the very small, to small business sector. There is a lot more enterprise level hardware and software in a company like Citrix which you have to learn in order to perform in our department.
My manager actually had me set up a bunch of old hardware for our team to do testing on. This included servers, switches, and storage. I had to do the cabling, the configurations, the upgrades, and the documentation.
Citrix is an amazing place to work . The people here are great; it almost feels like I am going to play in a sense because I get to do what I love so it doesn’t really feel like work.
Working at Citrix has finally given me the stability I needed in my career. After signing the job offer I got engaged, and after two months I got an apartment closer to work and moved in with my fiancée.
I have learned more in the past 5.5 months than the last 2 years at my previous job. I hope I will continue down this path and hope to continue climbing up the ladder here.

“I wished to be part of Citrix ever since I started my Master’s program!”
Hi, I’m Praveen. I started my internship with Citrix in the fall of 2015. Ever since I joined the GoToWebinar team, I have been working on the latest technology that is available in the market today. As a Front End Developer, I developed Client-side applications, which helps users to easily navigate and perform tasks using the G2W product. My responsibility mainly focuses on adding user-friendly features on the websites.
I always loved to be creative and being a front end developer provides me the right opportunity to showcase my skills. I have always known Citrix as a great company and I wished to be part of Citrix ever since I started my Master’s program! Citrix’s career site helped me find this opportunity.
As a Software Engineer Intern at Citrix I got an opportunity to work with some of the smartest minds in the industry. Applying my creative thoughts in building websites and applications is one thing I always liked about my job.
Aside from having technical skills and constantly being updated about the technologies that are in the market, communication with your team members is one of the key things to be successful in this position.
Citrix has a program called ‘Lean Innovation Challenge’ where you are free to share your ideas about a new product that might have a potential to generate revenue. Participating in such a program has personally improved my communication and leadership skills. Also working on the GoToWebinar product has let me acquire new technical skills, which I was not aware of before my Internship.
My First day at Citrix was a day to be remembered and cherished for a long time. After attending orientation, I was guided to my desk, which had 2 monitors, a brand new mac book pro laptop and accessories. I was totally amazed and impressed about the hospitality the team showed on my first day.
I very much value the culture at Citrix. There are happy hours every month where you are able to socialize with your colleagues over snacks and drinks. This is a great opportunity where you are able to get to know people from other departments.
Working at Citrix has changed the way I think about the software industry. It has provided me a platform where I can put what I have learned into practice. Also, having activities that are not work-related has made me a well-rounded individual.

“Working at Citrix has given me the opportunity to understand internal controls and auditing better, as well, exposing me to a different side of accounting.”
Hi, my name is Sharonda and I was a SOX Compliance Intern. I choose Accounting for a career because of the level of enjoyment I have experienced from all of the exposure I have received. Also, I see myself being able to provide financial literacy to my community to help strengthen their economic well-being.
During my employment at Citrix, I assisted the Global SOX Compliance Team with ensuring the SOX documentation and library of 300 internal controls were updated. I also worked with process and control owners to fulfill audit request, and assisted in increasing the efficiency of the Supply Chain Management processes. I enjoyed being able to be challenged and assist the Supply Chain Management team with finding efficiency within their processes. I also enjoyed working with the Internal Audit team and being exposed to the company as a whole.
I found out about this opportunity while I was online seeking an internship in the accounting realm and came across this role during my search. I wanted to expand my accounting knowledge and challenge myself and felt this this role would be a perfect fit for me.
In order to be successful in this role one needs to be able to think critically and take initiative in projects. You should also be able to understand flow charts as well as internal controls, ranging from the purpose to its functions. While in my role as a SOX Compliance Intern I was able to learn how to use Visio to create flowcharts and also enhance my excel skills. My note-taking, listening and critical thinking problem solving skills improved during my time at Citrix.
Citrix has a very relaxing culture where it is beneficial to both you and the company by using the company’s products to work virtually or even sit outside of the office as well. Citrix wants to make sure that the employees are happy and have balance in their life to be productive workers of the company.
Working at Citrix has given me the opportunity to understand internal controls and auditing better, as well, exposing me to a different side of accounting. I have been fortunate enough to also learn about processes and assisting on improving processes to increase efficiency within companies.

“I love learning and this role has given me the opportunity to explore a variety of topics that are interesting to me!”
Hi, I’m Shervin. I started my internship with Citrix as a Research and Development Intern and now I work Full Time as a Research Engineer.
As a Research Engineer I mainly explore technologies that are 2-5 years into the future. I would say I wear many hats in my role. Some days I’m focused on designing and coding an algorithm and other days I’m doing customer interviews to understand how to adjust the user facing portions of my app.
I love learning and this role has given me the opportunity to explore a variety of topics that are interesting to me as well as perform a wide range of duties that push me outside my comfort zone.
During my time at UCSB, I loved participating in hackathons and Startup Weekends. One day a Citrix employee liked our project so much he referred us to the Research team. I showed them our idea and they offered me an interview for an internship, then the rest is history!
I had a few interviews with members on the team about past projects, my skills, and what was I was interested in doing. After that they offered me a position as an R&D intern for a few months. Things went well my internship was extended and then later turned into a full-time offer.
I love my team; everyone is open and helpful to make each of our projects successful. I get the opportunity to work with people who are brilliant, they’re constantly teaching me something new.
In order to be successful in this role you need to be curious, self-driven, and think differently than most people. On a daily basis we encounter vastly different problems and we’re required to find solutions without a large amount of support. I love this challenge.
During my time at Citrix, I expanded my software development skills, specifically working with Javascript (AngularJS and Firebase). I learned how to ask the right questions to better understand the needs of a user.
I’ve developed experience in how to approach unique and innovative problems, I’ve learned how to build prototypes quickly, and I’ve learned how to work in an environment that provides you with the platform to be successful in your career.
