Citrix Workspace app for HTML5 has gained popularity among our customers for its ability to deliver flexible access to Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments without specific device requirements or the need to install a client. End users can easily and securely access their virtual apps and desktops from a web browser.
Traditionally, admins would install the Citrix Workspace app on all required devices, share the Citrix Workspace URL, and apply custom settings specific to users based on their user group and endpoint. Administrators would also have to go through the manual process of editing the Citrix Workspace app for HTML5 configuration files to configure settings, which posed the following challenges:
- Lack of central management due to the need to configure settings across multiple platforms individually
- Managing settings for managed and unmanaged devices required separate efforts
- Managing users on cloud and on-premise deployments required separate efforts
Now, delivering the Citrix Workspace URL and custom settings to users has become easier than ever. We are pleased to announce that the Citrix Global App Configuration Service now supports the Citrix Workspace app for HTML5 for both on-premises and Workspace stores. This offering is a centrally managed service that enables a Citrix admin to deliver Citrix Workspace service URLs and Citrix Workspace app settings. It is designed to equip IT administrators with an efficient, convenient, and flexible tool to customize user settings across platforms.
The benefits of utilizing this new service include:
- Quicker Implementation: With this new release, all customized settings are unified under a single service, eliminating the need to make time-consuming configuration changes in multiple files or locations for users on managed and unmanaged devices.
- Centralized Management: Administrators can now centrally manage and customize user settings for both Citrix StoreFront and Citrix Workspace users in sessions launched in the Citrix Workspace app for HTML5.
- Convenient Upgrades: After each version upgrade, the previous version settings are retained, eliminating the need to make changes in the configuration files frequently (i.e., upon each release upgrade).
Administrators can customize user settings for cloud deployments through Citrix Workspace with Citrix Workspace app for HTML5 2111 onward and on-premises StoreFront deployments with Citrix Workspace app for HTML5 2112 onward.
