Some workloads are not moving to cloud due to low latency or local data processing. Now, you can host AWS Outposts in your datacenter and extend your on-premises workloads to AWS. With AWS Outposts, you can now run your applications where you want or when the nearest public cloud servers are not close enough to meet application latency requirements. Low latency and sensitive workloads stay in data center and become part of the AWS Cloud with AWS Outposts.

AWS Outposts is bringing the hybrid-cloud vision to reality by bringing the same AWS infrastructure on-premises. This means you’re connecting the AWS Region to your on-premises location where AWS Outposts now lives. You use the same API, CLI, and management console to run and manage your applications both in the cloud and on-premises. AWS Outposts requires reliable networking connections to the parent AWS Region for control plane and data plane traffic between Outposts and associated VPCs.

“Customers are looking for ways to easily manage, monitor, and control the network architecture connecting their enterprise cloud infrastructure with their employees and customers,” said Joshua Burgin, General Manager, AWS Outposts, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “With Citrix SD-WAN available to customers on AWS Outposts, customers can easily define and deploy a network architecture that spans their AWS Outposts, the AWS Region, and their broader enterprise network architecture for a truly consistent hybrid experience.”

Citrix SD-WAN is Validated for AWS Outposts

SD-WAN simplifies application delivery in hybrid-cloud environments with support for AWS Outposts. Now, you can deploy your Citrix SD-WAN virtual appliance (VPX) in the AWS Cloud and on-premises and enjoy the same AWS VPC experience across your entire environment.

With datacenter services and applications distributed in both on-premises and cloud locations and branches, Citrix SD-WAN validated with AWS Outposts provides a seamless hybrid, multi-cloud experience from the word “go.” SD-WAN hosted in Outposts allows you to select the best possible link while going over the WAN. Outposts allows access to LAN environments whereas SD-WAN allows reliable connectivity for the LAN segment. A customer can host an SD-WAN appliance within Outposts and another on the peer end, AWS, or another on-premises location, to provide reliable connectivity.

With Citrix SD-WAN as a validated partner in AWS Outposts, Citrix SD-WAN and AWS customers will benefit from:

  • Security with centrally managed policies
  • Reliability with a virtual path comprised of multiple active links
  • Reduced latency and loss for sensitive apps for improved performance
  • Single pane of glass management and visibility

The Citrix solution also includes Citrix SD-WAN Orchestrator. This enables you to manage your entire Citrix SD-WAN infrastructure across your AWS environment — cloud and AWS Outposts — with the same tools, from a single cloud-managed tool. Moreover, Citrix SD-WAN provides real-time and historical insights about the status of your entire hybrid-cloud network and enables you to resolve issues quicker with proactive troubleshooting.

With the validation of Citrix SD-WAN VPX in AWS Outposts, Citrix can provide the ultimate choice and flexibility for your hybrid-cloud deployment. Now you can deliver the best user experience and security for your workloads on-premises and in the cloud.
