Work today is happening everywhere on everything from corporate issued laptops and mobile devices to personal tablets and even smartwatches. While this new-found freedom has given a major boost to productivity and innovation, it has also raised a new set of security concerns that require a more intelligent and contextual approach to security. To help address these challenges, Citrix has announced the expansion of our digital workspace security offerings.
We’re doing this by adding zero trust solutions to the Citrix Ready™ Workspace Security Program that will allow companies to simplify the selection of vendors and leverage their existing investments to design a modern security framework that delivers zero trust outcomes.
The Citrix Ready Workspace Security Program is a unique program that provides a choice of leading security vendors that complement Citrix solutions, allowing people to securely work anytime, from anywhere, while simplifying how IT manages the environment. It includes offerings for:
- Identity and Access Management
- Monitoring and Analytics
- Device and Endpoint Security
- Data Security
- Network Security
- SaaS and Web Apps Security
In expanding the program to include solutions that integrate with these offerings and have zero trust principles built-in, Citrix is providing extended context and an additional layer of security that make an enterprise more secure.
Zero Trust: Learning to Trust No One!
With apps moving steadily from the data center to hybrid-cloud models, security strategies that were designed to protect a singular corporate perimeter are becoming less and less relevant and effective. Zero trust security strategies have evolved to fit this new dynamic hybrid-cloud model.
Citrix Workspace is an ideal platform for deploying a zero trust security strategy. As a complete digital workspace solution, Citrix Workspace enables you to deliver secure access to information, apps, and other content that is relevant to an employee’s unique role in the organization. Users subscribe to the services you make available, and they can access them from anywhere, on any device. Read more about how Citrix views zero-trust security in these blog posts:
Citrix Ready Partners for a Zero Trust Strategy
Who do you trust? Why do you trust them? Who do you let in? What kind of access do you give them? How do you know that they are who they say that they are? How do you protect from internal attacks as well as external threats, malware, and ransomware? How does your security strategy need to change as the organization moves to the cloud and software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications?
As firms depend more on remote work and remote workers, they are trying to answer these questions and more. To succeed, they need security solutions that reduce risk even as they meet the specific needs of the organization, its workers, and the applications they need to get their job done.
A number of key Citrix Ready partners have either joined our program or expanded their footprint in it to provide solutions that enhance and complement zero-trust your enterprise security strategy. These partners have zero trust principles built-in and are integrated with Citrix Secure Workspace Access, Citrix Endpoint Management, and Citrix Analytics for Security, allowing organizations to adopt a singular framework for zero-trust security while customizing their strategy to meet their own specific needs.
- Cisco (Duo) — The integration of Duo Security’s (now part of Cisco) multi-factor authentication capabilities for end-user access to Citrix Workspace bolsters any organization’s security posture. Duo offers eight different MFA methods, including mobile apps, push notifications, offline options, WebAuthn, security keys, and more. Customers can choose the authentication methods that best fit their security strategy. Additionally, Citrix Gateway can provide contextual access to organizational resources by evaluating the end user’s location, identity, network, and endpoint health.
- Google — Google’s Beyondcorp integration with Citrix Workspace enables customers to truly implement zero trust principles for remote access use-cases. The joint solutions brings all applications in a customer’s environment — on-premises, GCP, and SaaS — exposed through Citrix Workspace, and adds BeyondCorp’s VPN-less access and policy enforcement. Users get a single pane of glass for all their applications, which can now be accessed from BYOD and non-corporate devices, without the need for a VPN.
- Microsoft — Integration of Microsoft products (Active Directory, Azure Sentinel and Microsoft Graph Security) with Citrix Analytics for Security once again confirms our strong relationship with Microsoft for over 30 years. This combined solution helps collect, search, and analyze data from multiple data sources on a single platform and also helps enhance user profile information for better insights. Using this data, you can monitor the events, troubleshoot, and automate mitigation actions.
- Okta — Okta integrates with Citrix Workspace to provide a secure, centralized location where each employee can easily find and access all of their applications and data stores. Your workforce benefits from Okta’s Single Sign-On (SSO) and Adaptive Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), eliminating password fatigue with a centralized login, and IT gets centralized visibility into enterprise app usage, fine-grained access controls that permit contextual access, and tools for discovering and remediating risky employee behaviour.
This is an exciting (but not an exhaustive) list of integrations. We continue to explore, research and combine with leading vendors to make your Workspace even more secure and without compromising the user experience.
