Recent times have certainly changed the way we greet family, friends, and colleagues. At Citrix, we believe in greeting our users with a seamless experience. That’s why we’re saying olá (hello in Brazilian Portuguese) to our latest Citrix Workspace app update.

So why am I using Portuguese? That’s because Citrix Workspace app 2008 for Windows also now speaks Brazilian Portuguese! In addition to this new language support, we are introducing a host of user experience improvements with the latest Citrix Workspace app update. Let’s take a look!

We are continuously working to improve the user experience on our Citrix Workspace app clients, and user experience starts at the time of login and authentication. For that reason, we have enhanced our authentication experience for users. In earlier versions, the authentication dialog was a separate popup, as shown below.

The new optimized authentication experience is devoid of multiple popups and dialogs. You can now sign in within the Citrix Workspace app window itself. The Workspace store you are signing in to is also clearly called out in the top left corner of the login screen. Further optimizations ensure that you don’t need to re-enter credentials in case you reboot your system or restart Workspace app. The screenshot below showcases the straightforward logon screen.

We’re also continuing to improve our App Protection functionalities. App Protection has been well received by our customers, and this update includes several enhancements to the feature. In earlier releases, when you took a screenshot of a protected window, the entire screen including the apps in the background, would get blacked out. This wasn’t ideal for users who needed to take a screenshot of something outside their virtual session, as shown below.

This update introduces an enhancement to the app protection feature. Now, when you take a screenshot, only the protected window is blacked out. You can take the screenshot of the area outside of the protected window as shown below.

Additionally, Browser Content Redirection continues to be our feature of choice for optimizing and offloading website content for a superior user experience. With our continuous improvements, we have now made sure that cookies are persistent across sessions with Browser Content Redirection. This means that if the website allows it, users can close the website and open it again without a re-auth prompt. Moreover, the Browser Content Redirection user agent can now honor system-locale language. This ensures that websites are presented in the same language as the client.
