Corporate social responsibility has long been at the core of Citrix culture. It’s been thrilling and humbling to see the tremendous, organic response to those in need by our employees around the world. And we know that it’s imperative that we not only make change happen at a global level, but locally within our communities.

Supporting and Facilitating the Spirit of Service

In any crisis, there are many ways to help and a seemingly endless list of areas of need. Beyond the harms of the virus itself, we’ve witnessed the tragic effects of food insecurity for so many. We’ve heard stories about employees, partners and customers taking care of their parents and family members, and parents trying to manage homeschooling their children while maintaining productivity and balance. Being a caregiver myself, I know how the current state of things can put additional responsibility on those at home. We are seeing acutely how this tragedy has affected families and children in a distinct way.

After being inspired by our employees and considering several paths we might take, Citrix will focus our corporate social responsibility efforts on nourishing the minds and bodies of families and children in the communities where we live and work.

Here’s What We’re Doing to Help Nourish Minds and Bodies

In addition to our annual corporate giving programs, Citrix is making a $4.5 million donation in response to the COVID-19 crisis, which will be split between Citrix locations around the world, to be used to support local nonprofits. We will be partnering closely with each nonprofit to make the most meaningful impact we can in our communities.

Part of our efforts also include a 2:1 match for all COVID-19 related donations by employees through June 30. We have always matched employee donations at Citrix, but we wanted to do even more for those affected by COVID-19.

And lastly, we pulled together virtual volunteer opportunities, where employees can use their two days of paid volunteer time to support those in need.

From employee volunteering to supporting our local communities with donations, this is what it means to live our values, and it’s why I’m so proud to work at Citrix.

Citrix has always focused on building a better future through volunteering and donations. We have long-lasting partnerships with organizations like Girls Who Code, and so, our response to COVID-19 will be no different. We will continue to work toward ensuring the children affected by this crisis can receive meaningful education and have a great future.

Inspire with a Vision — in Partnership with Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code is working hard to bridge the inequities of educational access and opportunity, even in the current pandemic. They’ve launched free, easy to access, Code at Home activities for millions of students and educators who are out of school.

We’re proud to support Code at Home, and at Citrix we believe strongly in the power of the Girls Who Code program. We know that there’s a lot of work to do to increase the number of women in the computer science profession, and we want to be a part of the solution.

We’re showing our support by matching every dollar donated to Girls Who Code by employees, customers or partners, up to $50,000! Just use this link to donate to the vision of a more equal, empowered, and educated future.

A Global Generosity Movement

Living our values is a part of what it means to be a Citrite. We invite you to join Citrix employees across the globe on #GivingTuesdayNow on May 5, 2020, as we participate in the united emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

It’s our responsibility to reach out a hand and lift others up, to offer a smile and a kind word, and to keep walking toward a brighter tomorrow.
