Amidst a vibrant city bustling with rich cultural history, a thriving art scene and of course, the fervor of Real Madrid football, Citrix and HPE showcased unparalleled innovation at HPE Discover Madrid 2018.

The customer demand was real, with standing-room-only joint sessions and many customers and partners requesting meetings to learn more about our new innovations. The Citrix HPE partnership momentum was in full swing, with our executives coming together across multiple facets of Citrix and HPE to optimize ways to power the future of work and blaze new trails for our partnership.

At the event, we made several exciting announcements, including:

HPE VDI Greenlake Lighthouse with Citrix Cloud

The HPE Pointnext Pavilion and customer breakout sessions were bustling with interest for this new offering from HPE Greenlake, built with Citrix Cloud. This offering enables enterprises to accelerate the journey to digital transformation with a new consumption-based virtual desktop offering powered by HPE Pointnext GreenLake and Citrix Cloud. Now, customers will get all the power, bursting capacity, and flexibility offered by the public cloud but with the security and choice maintained with an on-premises deployment.

With 25,000 experts implementing over 11,000 digital-transformation projects, HPE Pointnext has the talent, experience, and track record to take customers through every stage of the VDI journey with Citrix Cloud.

HPE Edgeline Engineering Workstation with AMD and Citrix Cloud

We also saw great excitement about the new HPE Edgeline Engineering Workstation with AMD and Citrix Cloud that was announced at HPE Discover Madrid.

The intelligent edge is a core focus area for the Citrix HPE alliance to power the future of work. We know that the edge is where all the activity happens and that data processed at the edge yields unparalleled insights, while optimizing performance and enhancing user experience. This is why Citrix and HPE have come together and announced a targeted workstation that meets the needs of power users at the edge — designers, architects, and visualizers, who all require high performance and low latency without needing racks or hypervisors. This offering lowers complexity, enables the mobility of users, and enhances user experience.

Validated with Citrix Cloud, organizations can be up and running with Citrix cloud-hosted desktops and apps in a matter of hours instead of weeks. Citrix Technology Professional (CTP) Thomas Poppelgaard provides more details of this announcement in his blog post HPE Edgeline Engineering Workstation with AMD and Citrix Cloud.

Automation for HPE Simplivity and Citrix Cloud

We also saw great customer interest in our new turnkey and truly integrated joint offering, the Automation for HPE Simplivity and Citrix Cloud. This solution epitomizes the hybrid-cloud approach with on-prem resources connecting to Citrix Cloud, allowing customers to deploy a complete hybrid-cloud solution with just a few clicks of a button. The new offering reduces the complexity of deploying Citrix environments and simplifies ongoing management. You can find more detailed information here.

Looking Forward — HPE and Citrix

Even though the festivities and fervor of HPE Discover Madrid 2018 are over, the new offerings we have launched will leave a lasting impact as we continue to innovate to meet the needs of our joint customers. We will continue to deepen our joint offerings and focus on the four key pillars for the Citrix HPE alliance heading into 2019:

  1. Powering the intelligent edge
  2. Transforming to hybrid cloud
  3. Optimizing enterprise workspaces
