It’s an exciting time here at Citrix. We’ve just unveiled Citrix Workspace app, which delivers a great experience—a secure, contextual, unified workspace—on any device. With it, users have access to SaaS and web apps, files, mobile apps, virtual apps and desktops from an easy-to-use, all-in-one interface powered by Citrix Workspace services.

Citrix Workspace app is now available on the Microsoft Store. Citrix Workspace app works along with Citrix Cloud to give you a digital workspace solution that will transform the way you and your colleagues work. It’s important to note that Citrix Workspace app is fully backward-compatible with on-prem Citrix StoreFront. Citrix Workspace app incorporates the full capabilities of Citrix Receiver, plus a whole lot more. Citrix Workspace app has also assimilated the Citrix Gateway (NetScaler) plug-ins, Citrix Secure Hub, Citrix Content Collaboration (Sharefile) drive mapper, desktop app and sync. In addition to all this, Citrix Workspace app is enhanced to deliver capabilities of Citrix Access Control, which provides secure access to SaaS and Enterprise Web apps, secure internet browsing capabilities, native Citrix Content Collaboration (ShareFile) integration and more.

Here are some of the highlights:

Citrix Access Control:

Citrix Access Control enables administrators to provide security controls for SaaS and internet with a cohesive experience through the Workspace integrating Single Sign-On (SSO), secure and remote access, web filtering and categorization, Secure Browser service, and Citrix Analytics into a single unified solution. IT administrators can govern access to approved SaaS apps, protect the organization’s network and end-user devices from malware and data leaks by filtering access to specific websites and website categories, and enforce enhanced access security policies. Once authenticated, employees have access to all critical business applications from any device irrespective of whether they are in the office premises, at home, or traveling.

Citrix Access Control integration with Citrix Analytics enables administrators to monitor user activities, such as malicious, dangerous, or unknown websites visited, bandwidth consumed, and risky download and upload behaviors. Administrators can take corrective action to protect the enterprise network and provide governance for sanctioned access while providing end users seamless and secure access to all their hosted apps.

ShareFile integration:

Using ShareFile has never been this easy. You can access all your files using the Files tab displayed in the Citrix Workspace app with Single Sign-on. This  allows for sharing, syncing and securing content from various storage locations like SharePoint, OneDrive, Dropbox, and so on. The file preview feature makes viewing the files oh so convenient, without the need to download the file itself. File upload, download, and print have eased day-to-day work.
