  • Controlling local app launch in double-hop scenario using vPrefer

Do you know there is way to launch applications faster in double hop, providing a better user experience? How cool is that!

Starting with this release, in a double-hop scenario, you can control whether Receiver launches the local instance of an application installed on the VDA (if available as a local app) instead of launching a hosted instance of the application.

To learn more about the configuration, please refer to the product documentation.

Show or hide the remote language bar

Here’s another cool feature that provides an option in Receiver Advance Preferences to show or hide the remote language bar in an application session!

Support for lossless compression codec (MDRLE)

We have enhanced the default graphics mode in 7.17 to reduce bandwidth even further with typical desktop session. Lower bandwidth translates to improved session interactivity and reduced costs.

Browser content redirection

Last, but not the least, an improved user experience by redirecting the content of a web browser to a client device and creates a corresponding browser embedded within Citrix Receiver. Hence offloads network usage, page processing, and graphics rendering to the endpoint.

To learn more, please refer to the XenApp & XenDesktop product documentation.

Compiler Migration 2017

We have also upgraded the compiler to VS2017 and it is time for you to recompile custom virtual channel that you have developed for your organization to work with Receiver for Windows.

That’s all, folks! I hope you all enjoyed this quick review of the new features in Citrix Receiver for Windows, v4.11. Now, what are you waiting for? Download it today and try it out for yourself (and be sure to let us know, in the comments below, what you think).
