The best part of the big Citrix events — Summit and Synergy — is the people you meet. My favorite interaction at this year’s Summit happened when I was taking a turn working the ShareFile booth in the Solutions Expo. That’s when Daniel Horn from Phases in Denmark happened to walk through. After chatting for a few minutes, I asked Daniel about his goals for Summit. He said, “I’ve come to learn about more Citrix products.”
I’m an advocate for both ShareFile and for our partner community. So, it won’t surprise you to find out I suggested he learn more about ShareFile during the event.

“Actually, ShareFile Platinum is all I sell. It’s the other Citrix products I need to learn more about.”

Daniel officially had my attention.

He went on to share that he’s built a business that will grow to 70 employees this year. His selling process is completely antithetical to most Citrix partners, starting in departments like Marketing or Human Resources instead of IT. While he’s preparing to launch a business that will deliver XenDesktop and XenApp through Citrix Cloud, nearly 80% of his current revenue comes from selling ShareFile Platinum and a services practice built around the product. Business is booming for Daniel and Phases, and he’s done it through a singular focus on ShareFile Platinum and cloud-based software.
