Happy International Women’s Day to you all! It has always been one of my favorite holidays growing up in Moscow, Russia where March 8 is widely celebrated and is actually a public holiday.

This year, the theme of the day is #BeBoldForChange, an idea that asks us to step up to help forge a better working world – a more inclusive, gender equal world. This theme struck me as incredibly fitting for Citrix, where our values of unity and courage remind us that we can achieve great things together and that we must be bold in the pursuit of our dreams.

The most important part of my role as the leader of Citrix is to continuously advance our culture and ensure that we live our values and emphasize the importance of diversity and inclusion. It is only logical that according to recent study, more than 75 percent of my peers in the industry include gender equality in their top priorities. That is certainly an important step in the right direction. However, there remains a ton work for us to do. Fortune magazine found that women are still underrepresented in STEM roles worldwide even though the opportunities for women are steadily increasing and organizations like GirlsWhoCode make incredibly valuable changes.

I stand for giving people an equal opportunity to explore their talents and realize their potential. I believe in equal compensation for equal work, regardless of gender or skin color. And, I truly believe in our value of unity, which recognizes the powerful force that can come from people of different genders, cultures, backgrounds, talents and skills working together.

I am excited about the events that our diversity team has put together for today — both on site in a few of our major locations and virtually. We made great progress in our diversity and inclusion efforts over the course of the past year. For the first time in Citrix history, we offered the opportunity for employees to self-identify, so that we can better understand our people and take action to leverage the power of and celebrate our unique perspectives and differences. We are sharing our commitment with the world to hold ourselves accountable for making gender equality a reality. Moreover, we will work to continue to do more for diversity and inclusion within Citrix and find even more ways to empower our people.

I encourage you to use today to celebrate women, and to reflect on what each of us can do to support diversity and gender equality. We must all have courage and stand together. I believe that we can #BeBoldForChange.

Happy International Women’s Day!
