In our busy work days, it can be easy to lose sight of the fact that technology can truly change people’s lives. Fortunately, our partners never forget: they work with our customers all year long to create game-changing applications of our solutions, and we’re constantly inspired by their work.

The most innovative have been recognized in the 2017 Citrix Innovation Award for Partners. Response to our call for award submissions this year was incredible, with entries from a range of organizations in a wide array of vertical markets. Nominees shared how they designed and delivered an innovative solution that powers customer success, and an independent committee of IT experts narrowed the list to three finalists. I’m proud to share them with you here.

You’ll have a chance to cast your vote for the winner: finalist videos will be available in early January on Voting will open the first week of January and closes on Tuesday, January 10 at 6:00 p.m. PT. Check back on the site or follow #citrixpartners for the announcement that voting is live. The winner will be announced during the Closing Keynote at Citrix Summit 2017 in Anaheim, California, on Wednesday, January 11.

Let me introduce you to these visionary organizations, and share their exceptional stories:

Atea – Denmark

Atea Denmark is the leading Nordic and Baltic supplier of IT infrastructure with approximately 6,800 employees. Atea developed a solution in cooperation with Nordic Aviation Capital resulting in more data in the cloud and faster access for employees worldwide. Nordic Aviation Capital is the global leader in regional aircraft leasing, with over 170 employees operating across 10 locations globally and a fleet of over 350 aircraft. Nordic Aviation Capital was the first in the world to use virtual Citrix XenApp servers in Microsoft Azure, in different datacenters around the world.

What do you do if the infrastructure solution you want is not in the market? You develop it yourself.  Nordic Aviation Capital IT administrator Morten Thomsen says it’s part of the company DNA to be digital front-runners.

We find that many of our colleagues in the industry are afraid to let go of the data, but we have a cloud-first strategy because we would rather have the data lying in the cloud than in Billund. It makes us far less vulnerable to crashes and makes life easier for our colleagues around the world.

Envision IT – U.S.

Envision IT is a soulful consulting company helping clients improve employee engagement. Exact Sciences is working to eradicate colon cancer with Cologuard, a noninvasive and effective screening test. The companies partnered to enable Exact Sciences’ rapid global expansion leveraging Citrix Workspace Suite and NetScaler. The solution is invisible to end-users, secures PHI and Exact Sciences’ IP, and is delivered from a fluid hybrid of cloud and on-premises infrastructures. Together, Envision and Exact Sciences are delivering on a shared mission to enrich lives around the world.

“Not only does Envision IT have the technical depth and breadth, but the desire to contribute their talents toward the mission of Exact Sciences,” said Doug Turecek, Exact Sciences senior director, IT & Information Security. “It’s that personal dedication that allows us to collaborate on solutions that help save lives rather than just technology.”

It’s that personal dedication that allows us to collaborate on solutions that help save lives rather than just technology.

Fujitsu – New Zealand

Fujitsu’s GoDaaS is a cloud-based desktop-as-a-service solution for the New Zealand government. Built on one of the most sophisticated multitenanted Citrix architectures in the world, GoDaaS provides a seamless experience across any device or desktop, be it traditional or virtual, freeing users to work where and how they need to. This was truly put to the test in November 2016 when a massive earthquake struck New Zealand. Thanks to GoDaaS, one government agency went from zero IT availability to a secure digital workplace within four days, enabling them to meet a critical deadline for publishing key economic statistics.

GoDaaS would be pointless if it didn’t produce a positive human impact to make life easier and more productive for the government and citizens of New Zealand. In addition to enabling Statistics New Zealand to unleash the power of data, GoDaaS is delivering a range of outcomes for New Zealand, including streamlining the justice system and reducing the cost of running the desktop, returning vital funding back to projects that help enable the community.
