No, it’s definitely NOT just you, Jason! The General Session kicked off this morning with a lot of excitement, as everyone settled in for two amazing hours of demos, new technology and visits from customers. The bloggers were nestled all snug in their special section, and unleashed a torrent of traffic on Twitter surrounding the announcements. Let’s dive in!

Master of ceremonies Tim Minahan – Citrix senior VP and chief marketing officer – introduced Workspace Services corporate VP and GM Bill Burley to get the party started. Bill’s wide-ranging discussion focused on how Citrix is accelerating innovation with a customer-first perspective. Bill announced XenApp & XenDesktop 7.9, which introduce key integrations with Intel, discussed the five areas of innovation in XenMobile, including the availability of the Secure Forms app, and introduced XenServer 7, which simplifies graphics virtualization using Intel’s Iris Pro Graphics. Bill brought Brad Anderson, Microsoft corporate VP for Enterprise Client & Mobility, to the keynote stage to underscore the strengthened relationship between the two companies, and got a huge round of applause for announcing the option to manage Windows 10 images on Azure through XenDesktop—the first time Windows 10 can be hosted on a public or private cloud.

Next up, the amazing Networking team, led by Klaus Oestermann, Delivery Networks senior VP and GM, showed customers how NetScaler can help them make a five-year bet in advanced networking and ensure the longevity of their investment in the context of industry change and challenges. Abhishek Chauhan, vice president and CTO, Delivery Networks, announced the NetScaler MAS Management and Analytics System, which collects and analyzes the data—more than a million transactions per second—generated by each single NetScaler device.

Finally, Jesse Lipson, corporate VP and GM, Cloud Services, discussed how Citrix ShareFile is upleveling data protection with Information Rights Management and productivity with ShareFile Workflows and Office 365 co-editing.
