  • SYN703: Birds of a Feather session for financial services and insurance industries
  • Wednesday May 25, 4 to 5:30 p.m., followed by networking reception 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Veronese 2403

Join your peers from the financial services industry – including banking, insurance, and investment – in the exclusive Birds of a Feather customer roundtable. This interactive, moderated session will feature customers sharing real-world experiences in transforming IT to respond to the changing business landscape. This event is closed to the press, so you can share your questions, insights, successes and challenges freely. The session is followed immediately by a networking reception, sponsored by Citrix partner Fujitsu.

The session will be moderated by Ruben Spruijt, CTO of Atlantis Computing and a Citrix Technology Professional (CTP). Ruben is a well-regarded author, speaker, technologist, and all-around geek. In addition to being named a CTP, he has also received the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional and VMware vExpert virtualization awards.

The session features the following customer panelists:

  • Mike Currie, Senior Vice President of Technology Infrastructure Services at Banner Bank. He manages the 3 engineering teams that deploy, support, and maintain Banner Bank’s enterprise network & telecommunications platforms, in addition to the Citrix application delivery platform.  Mike has worked with Citrix solutions since 1999 and has managed the Citrix platforms for Banner Bank since 2004.
  • Justin Rackliffe, Solutions Architecture within Fidelity’s Enterprise Technology organization, responsible for providing strategy and governance for IT services across the enterprise, focusing on hybrid cloud, “bring-your-own” efforts, policy and controls, workspace rationalization, and organizational agility.
  • Markus Marksteiner, Head of Infrastructure & Support responsible for IT Operations, User Service Center and Workplace Services and acts as Group CTO for Baloise Group since 2011. His career with Baloise started as director of systems engineering in 2001, and then to heading IT Operations in 2002.
  • Scott Meyer, Vice President of End User Technology at Deutsche Bank. He oversees their Global Desktop Virtualization program that includes over 100,000 virtual desktops hosted in 18 datacenters in 9 regional hubs. Scott leads the product management and engineering functions and provides guidance to the operations and support functions that make up their virtual desktop service. Before Deutsche Bank, Scott was the director of End User Platforms for Fidelity Investments and was the manager of Infrastructure Strategy and Architecture for Progress Energy.
