We are delighted welcome two interns from Dublin City University (DCU) to CITRIX.
Kvetoslava Sliacanova and Daniel Maguire have just finished their third year at DCU studying for B.Sc. in Computer Applications. They will now undergo an internship with Citrix before entering their final year in Oct 2016.
So, why DCU? Over the years, Citrix has forged a good relationship with DCU. In fact, many of our employees attended this university, so we are confident with the quality of candidates.
The school’s proximity to the Dublin Technical Support Centre of Excellence in EMEA means they won’t have to commute to far. DCU is a leading university in Ireland and has a deep pool of undergraduates in STEM faculties. DCU has been something of a pioneer running its internship program INTRA (INtegrated TRAining) for over 25 years now. It has been at the heart of the DCU experience, which made it an easy choice for collaboration.
What will the internship entail?
Kvetoslava and Daniel will be working alongside the Windows App Desktop team, which involves working on the market leading XenApp and XenDesktop products. The team focuses on delivering support to high-performance, high-quality and highly secure software that delivers remote access to applications and desktops from any device, from anywhere.
However, before they begin we have developed an intensive training programme that will ramp up their foundation knowledge, using a blend of PluralSight training, instructor led and hands on labs using XenServer. After this they will have the pleasure of two weeks serious XenDesktop/XenApp training with no other than Citrix Sr. Readiness Specialist Mick Glover aka @XDtipster.
Over the next months, they will have the chance to work on cutting-edge technology products that are fuelling the growth of cloud computing, hypervisors, desktop, applications, network and graphics virtualization, collaborative working, mobile computing and more.
This is an excellent opportunity for us to connect with ambitious and energetic students who can bring specialist skills, motivation, energy and new ideas into the work place.
Just a short, special bit of thanks for those who made this happen in such a short period of time. Our leadership team in sponsoring this initiative at the Dublin office, our Talent Acquisition/University Recruitment Specialist, Tiffany Brown, and Maeve Long, Head INTRA Unit DCU.
