Citrix released Receiver for Chrome 2.0, with a fresh, delightful user experience with seamless apps, new toolbar and connection center.
Today, let’s talk about the Connection Center and how it works.
Connection Center is a control window through which users can manage applications and sessions.
The new, seamless applications allow each remote windows application to appear in its separate window, and behaves like a native application on the Chrome device. This means that there is no toolbar attached to the seamless application. The toolbar is useful for controls like logoff or disconnect the session, attach a USB device etc.
Using the connection center, users can terminate applications, log off or disconnect the session etc. keeping the applications seamless without the need for toolbar. But options like Preferences for display resolution and upload/download files are not available in Connection Center.
Right click on the Citrix Receiver icon in the taskbar or start menu. Then click on connection center. You will be prompted with the following window.
When a particular session is selected, users will have four buttons enabled for actions.
1. Devices: If you want to redirect USB to a particular session say ‘Session1’, click on ‘Session1’ and click Devices button. You will be prompted with a dialog for USB redirection. If USB redirection is not enabled in the server for ‘Session1’, Devices button will be disabled for that particular session.
2. Ctrl+Alt+Del: As the name suggests, Ctrl+Alt+Del window is shown.
3. Disconnect: It will disconnect that particular session.
4. Logoff: It will logoff the session.
When a particular application within a session is selected, users will have Terminate button enabled to click. Once it is clicked, that particular application will be closed.
Try the new seamless windows and connection center and let us know how it works for you.
