Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN) offers the reliability, visibility, control and flexibility businesses need today to address the demands placed by new bandwidth intensive applications on their wide area networks—and in 2016 there is strong momentum toward mainstream adoption.

One of the challenges with mainstream adoption is that enterprises’ needs remain diverse, and solution offerings on the market fall short of meeting these needs because they are either incomplete or bundles of complex, siloed components.

Today we’re unveiling a complete solution for enterprises on this path: CloudBridge Enterprise Edition, a single platform with fully integrated WAN virtualization, WAN Optimization, enterprise-grade security, and end-to-end visibility. The CloudBridge Enterprise Edition makes it a no-brainer to move forward with a scalable, enterprise grade SD-WAN implementation.

With industry-leading optimization for Citrix applications, as well as other enterprise application protocols, the CloudBridge WAN optimization technology is proven in the market. We have many customers today that are realizing results by using our WAN optimization solution in their networks around the globe.

The CloudBridge WAN virtualization technology is distinguished in the marketplace, offering the fastest failover response, unique path load-balancing capabilities, intelligent extensions for lossless delivery of real-time media and end-to-end enterprise grade security.

The CloudBridge Enterprise Edition, as a fully integrated SD-WAN platform, uniquely offers a single pane-of-glass management. Enterprises no longer need to struggle with how to manage multiple devices or components at branch locations for WAN virtualization, optimization, performance management, or security.

Now, not only can enterprises enjoy lower CAPEX associated with deploying a single branch device, but they also can reduce the operational complexity of dealing with separate management systems. Relieved of this burden, enterprises can focus on evolving their IT infrastructure to unlock the potential of SD-WAN and avoid the disruption of the delivery of business critical apps and data.

Since the launch of our SD-WAN solution last April, it has gained significant momentum in the marketplace. Gartner recognized Citrix as a representative vendor for our CloudBridge SD-WAN offering in its December 2015 Market Guide for Software Defined WAN.* You can learn more about this guide in this recent post.

Last year, The Watershed, an organization that offers drug and alcohol rehabilitation services and treatment centers, was the first North American customer to fully deploy CloudBridge Virtual WAN. After continued success with Citrix solutions, including NetScaler, ShareFile and XenApp/XenDesktop, the customer was interested in a progressive way to maintain always-on connectivity for employees at branch facilities in times of network disruptions to keep them focused on their patients.

Their main challenge was maintaining high availability and reliability of connections to more than 600 personnel across facilities in Florida and Texas. While The Watershed was already leasing MPLS and broadband services, operating in an active/backup manner, there were delays in failover which interrupted application sessions. With CloudBridge, The Watershed now runs WAN links in active/active mode, providing a multifold increase in bandwidth while link blackouts/brownouts go unnoticed. The Watershed can stay focused on their mission of saving lives, having served more than 35,000 patients to date, and delivering high quality inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol addiction treatment and counseling services.
