Citrix Summit is just around the corner and excitement levels are running high!
We are just weeks away from show time! We will once again have some of our top execs on the big stage, addressing our sales and partner teams and kicking off what we know is going to be a great event.
I thought it would be fun to share with you what some of our key leaders are most excited about. Just last week, I reached out to them and asked about their priorities for Summit and to get a sneak-peek into what to expect at the event.
Carlos Sartorius –
SVP, Worldwide Sales & Services
“I am really looking forward to seeing our Partners and Citrix sales teams together at Summit. I expect that every person will leave Summit excited and motivated by our direction and increased focus on making it easier than ever to deliver solutions that meet our customer needs and that will drive greater profitability for our partners and Citrix.”
Fernando Campo – VP, Americas Sales & Services
“Summit will energize the Americas team and Channel by providing clear direction that we can rally around for a spectacular 2016. I expect to see a much clearer corporate and product message that will allow us to focus on a manageable set of priorities for success. This will be a unique opportunity to be a part of the start of a new and exciting phase in our journey of partnering with the best channel in industry. Starting the year with great positive momentum, proud to be a part of this amazing ecosystem!” Connect with Fernando on Twitter: @
Kimberly Martin – VP, Worldwide Partner Sales & Strategy
“My biggest priority for Summit is to engage with our partners & share our vision for a stronger partnership going forward. We are deeply focused this year on creating success for our partners with a new, mid-market sales plan. I don’t want to share everything up front, but we’ll have a new field engagement model for many of our partners, as well as incentives to invigorate sales. This has been a time of change for Citrix, and I think it’s important for our partners to understand the innovation and focus the company has now, plus take advantage of the opportunity for them to connect with many new Citrix leaders.” Connect with Kimberly on Twitter: @
Klaus Oestermann –
SVP & GM, Delivery Networks
“Enabling the success of our partners is at the heart of Citrix Summit. We want to make sure that our partners receive actionable knowledge about our vision and product direction. Citrix offers networking products that are best-in-class and competitively unique, offering partners an opportunity to grow revenue and increase their bottom line. This year we will showcase multiple early ‘tech preview’ demos, thought leadership advancements in the containers and DevOps space, release a new enterprise edition of CloudBridge, and also launch our rebranding efforts to showcase tighter networking product alignment under one NetScaler brand.”
Bill Burley –
Corp VP & Acting GM, Workspace Services BU
“My mission for Summit is to get the channel pumped up about new product capabilities that will help them land new customers and expand use cases in current customers. We’re going to be prescriptive about what customer conversations to have, and provide everyone with some specific “Go Do-s” that we think will generate momentum. Although we’ll be announcing lots of great product updates, I believe we’ll generate the most buzz around new ways to attach to the ever-increasing number web apps, some exciting Microsoft partnership news, and some new value for XenApp and XenDesktop Platinum edition customers in the area of monitoring. Of course, the interaction with partners is always the most important part – the exchange of ideas, feedback on our progress and the chance to promote the latest work from the product teams.” Connect with Bill on Twitter: @
Tammy Richards –
Managing Director, Worldwide Channels
“I am personally excited about Summit 2016, as it will be a springboard to transform our partner’s success. We have been laser-focused on making it easy to do business with Citrix, generate new opportunities and build enduring and profitable customer relationships for success. With our emphasis on secure app & data delivery, a focus to win in the mid-market and concentration on simplifying selling for both Citrix sales teams and partners together, we know everyone leaving Summit will be thrilled about the new opportunity in the year ahead!” Connect with Tammy on Twitter: @
Luca Marinelli –
AVP, Channel Sales & Strategy, EMEA
“I look forward to showing our Partners the Citrix Strategy (products, go to market, partner programs), getting really clear on where they can make money with us, and helping them to understand why we are better than competition. We will unveil our value prop strategy and roadmap, so partners can plan their approach to the new opportunities accordingly. Plus the opportunity to meet our executive team and spend some relaxed and quality time with their Channel Managers will reinforce and strengthen relationships. Citrix Strategy + GEO Strategy + recognition of results/achievements + opportunity to have fun (real fun!) with peers and colleagues. :-)” Connect with Luca on Twitter: @
Rafael Garzon –
Managing. Director, Channel Sales, Americas
“50% is what you know and the remaining 50% is who you know. Summit gives you 100% because you will learn all the new messages and content to sell Citrix solutions at the same time that the Citrix teams are learning that content for the first time. Summit gives you the best opportunity to network with members of the Citrix team that you normally do not interact with (every Citrix resource is looking to interact with you as the event is designed and prepared for YOU). Summit is about having fun, loosening up and talking about business and making $$$ with our partners.” Connect with Rafael on Twitter: @
Phil Dean-Jones –
Sr. Director, Channel Sales & Partner Development, APJ
“Summit in just one word: Alignment. A vendor partner relationship is most effective when we have a common understanding of where the market opportunities are and the role we each play in going after those opportunities. Summit is the event to ensure we’re all singing from the same song sheet! The market is pivoting rapidly towards the cloud. Citrix is evolving to ensure our products and messaging will enable us, and our partners, to take advantage of the tremendous profit making opportunities this shift represents. The passion that you always feel for what we do at these types of event. But at the same time… the excitement of change!” Connect with Dean on Twitter: @

“In the Americas, we launched the Demo Derby contest this past July. We had partners all over the Americas submit their version of how customers can save money, reduce risk and/or improve the end user experience with Citrix Workspace Suite. Their submissions were really creative and a lot of fun to watch! Check out the Americas breakout at Summit for the big reveal – see who will be the winner and preview their video. Public voting starts in December, so please vote! I am looking forward to seeing partners and catching up on we can do to make 2016 a great and productive year! See you in January!” Connect with Jennefer on Twitter: @

“Summit is the platform to kick off our year and provide practical and prescriptive content to help partners lead with services and maximize profit when reselling Citrix solutions … sharing Citrix Consulting Services best practice to help partners build or develop their Citrix practices and profit from the mid-market opportunity. I look forward to meeting partners and hearing what’s working and what we need to improve to remain their BEST partner and the help them get focused and aligned with Citrix to ensure success in the field in 2016.” Connect with John on Twitter: @
Ash Chowdappa –
VP & GM, NetScaler, Delivery Networks
“There are a number of key priorities for the NetScaler group at Summit! We look forward to sharing our vision and product direction for 2016. We plan to show early ‘tech preview’ demos for a couple of ideas and areas of thought leadership. I am looking forward to group and 1:1 interactions and establishing rapport with our key partners as well as soliciting partner input on some of our ideas, plus also understand their perspective for what we can do to make ourselves much easier to do business with. We want to understand how we can help them be more successful.”
As for me, I’m most looking forward to our reimagined event, bringing back fun and excitement to our sales teams and partners. Summit is a wonderful opportunity to spend time together and network as well as share the most valuable information to set up our partners for success. We have been focused on building great first–time-ever tools and resources to share at Summit with clear actions for attendees to seed success after the event. The team has been working behind the scenes on some pretty cool resources and programs and I can’t wait for the unveiling of the exciting road ahead for our partners!!
