Have you ever had to fill out an “application request form” on your company’s Intranet site or open a “request for application access” ticket in your company’s tracking system? Have you ever received an email asking you to log into your company’s network to approve an application request from one of your employees only to find that now the ticket gets assigned to someone in IT to manually grant them access? How long does this end-to-end process typically take to complete in your company? How many people are involved in this manual process in your company (not to mention designing, deploying, and maintaining the access request forms)?

Great news! Citrix Octoblu can now automate this process end-to-end in Citrix Storefont!  Users can request access to applications in StoreFront while Octoblu manages the automated process of requesting approval of the employee’s manager and then updating the permissions in Storefront automatically.

Here’s a video of John McBride demonstrating this automated process in action!

Using this Octoblu workflow, automating this process end-to-end is as easy as 1.2.3. Here’s a step-by-step guide to implement this automation within your company.

Step 1: User requests access to an application directly from Storefront (see below).

This step “triggers” an Octoblu workflow automation that manages the remainder of this process (see below).

Step 2: Octoblu looks up the employee’s manager and emails them a link to approve or deny access to the application (see below).

Step 3: If access is approved, Octoblu updates the Storefront application permissions and emails the employee notifying them that they now have access to the application (see below).
